I wasn't sure where to put this but it had to do with dogs so...yea.

My neighbor's(she's also my friend) just got their dog, Shilo spayed. She's adorable, maybe 5 years old. They rescued her, she was at one time locked up in a building chained to er mom, and was so scared when they first got her. Sadly, they think shemight have ripped some stitches inside her(i think thats what my neighbor said) and since my friends' family didn't have enough money to fix it, they might just put her down. This breaks my heart because she's come such a long ways from where she was when they first got her. And, don't yel at me if I'm not understanding this right, I don't understand how they don't have enough money to fix the stitches but can afford to give their older daughters(2 of them) at least $100(each!) to go shopping for clothes whenever they want(at least 4-5 times a week!) I wish they could just give her up for adoption or something, but shemight be sick, and if no one adopted her... I feel so bad for poor Shilo! I know this is completely up to the family, but I wish I could but in and take Shilo. Iknow my family would pay to fix the stitches(if we'll pay to get a guinea pig neutered, I think we would for a dog!:\)

I'm not quite sure why I'm posting this, I guessif anyone has any ideas/opinions/advice about this...I'd just really hate to see Shilo be killed after having only a happy year or two in her life. :(

Five is not old for a dog; she still has a lot of years of fun ahead of her.

Would your family consider taking her? Mayber taker her to the vet and find out what is wrong and how much it will cost at this point?

Poor girl; I understand how you feel.

As far as ripping stitches inside of her-there shouldn't be stitches at all inside (as far as I know...), just on where they made the cut to get to her. If it's just the outside stitches, that would cost pennies to fix (well...not really...under $100) and then you put a cone on her head and she'll be fine.

Where are you located?

Actually there are sutures on the inside as well, those hold the muscles together over the incision. They are dissolvable sutures and just get bio-degraded by the body over time.

The outside sutures hold the skin together over the incision and are not bio-degradable and must be removed in 10-14 days.
