Okay, guys, I usually get enough inspiration from birdsnway's Toymaker page, but I don't feel like sifting through pages today so does anyone have any time-tested, birdie-approved DIY toys they'd like to share?

Ideas are much welcomed! For what it's worth, I should add that I was wanting to do something that involved plastic containers. I have a bunch of yogurt tubs and I don't know whether I should mutilate them for my dogs or the birds :p

I can't remember what kind of birds you have- Budgies? I don't remember you having large birds but if you do you can put treats and things in the yogurt cups and put the lid on them and then they have to figure out how to get the treats out of the cup. One of my cockatoos likes playing that game.

You can get creative and make toys that involve dried corn husk. My birds love to play with and shread the dried corn husk.

I made Kiwi a scavenging tray...I put gravel in it he could push around and scatter some loose millet in the bottom for him to scavenge.

Thanks! Yep, I have budgies and a cockatiel. I was thinking of carving a hole in the yogurt lid and placing a few treats in it. I wonder if the budgies would be able to figure out how to get it out though... The tub is pretty big. I think it's 32 oz.
