Do you think that all pets deserve a right to live? I think so with all of my heart. No animal deserves to die for no reason at all.

I'm sure everyone here agrees that animals have a right to live :)

That's a tricky question. Every animal deserves a chance at life.

I believe that if an animal viciously attacks another animal or human being, completely unprovoked, it may be neccessary to put the animal to sleep. Don't get me wrong, I am an avid animal lover, and if it is possible to "rehab" an animal, I say do it.

Here's an extreme example: A dog, with a history of aggressive behavior, lunges through the glass of a closed window. A child is riding his big wheel on the sidewalk, and is mauled by the dog. Does this dog deserve to live, you ask? Everything deserves a chance at life, but this dog needs to be put to sleep, for the safety of everyone. It is an extreme situation, but is not unheard of.

I am probably going to be unpopular for this post, but I believe that the safety of people and animals comes before the rights of those human or animal that have no regard for life. This is why we have prisons (don't ask me about the death penalty, I don't wan to discuss it).

Every sweet creature has the right to live their lives in peace.

Pupper lover brought up some good points that I also happen to agree with. And I do believe in capital punishment for extreme violence and disregard for life. I also believe if our laws had stricter punishments attached to them, we would see less violent murders. I am referring to people and animals alike. :(

Case in point.... Perry and Daisy getting attacked and then animal control giving the dog back to the owners with no consequences to the dogs actions. I am not saying automatically put the dog down. The dog would need to be analyzed by a professional to determine if this was an isolated incident and a behavior that can be corrected or something that has the potential to happen again. It is sad because if the dog was shown love and given the basic of training the situation probably would not of occured to start with.

Tough question... I voted it depends.

I think every animal deserves to live no matter how cruel his/her life has been. How would u like it if a doctor came up to u and put a shot in u that kills u? u wouldnt like it. how do u think the animals feel when that happens to them? or if they get killed by a car? i know, sometimes people put their animals to sleep just so that they dont have to suffer if they had a bad disease that u couldnt get rid of. I understand that. But what I dont understand is why people just kill their animals b/c they dont want them anymore and they are too f***ing lazy to do anything about it! My friend's brother killed her cat b/c she was deaf. He shot her. They didnt want her to suffer. She had kittens! They waited till the kittens were old enough to get homes before they went off and killed the mother cat. I would say the cats name but its not appriate.

I agree with what Candy and pupper-Lover said. It most cases, yes, an animal deserves every chance at life. There are just some cases when all sides need to be waeighed and either for the safety and well being of the animal or others, it is neccesary to put it down. I vote, that it depends

I voted it depends for the same reasons you all did. But I also do think all animals have a right to live, if that makes any sense.
Yes I know that in the case of a dog if there is a real bad injury and/or the dog poses a real danger there are not a lot of choices involved. Like when a wild animal such as a cougar attacks and/or kills. The main difference being human involvement. In majority of cases involving dogs, digging deep enough will soon reveal human cause, lack of training, abuse, bad breeding... the list is endless. What is the answer? I don`t know. But I do know in all cases, the killing of both wild and domestic animals, leave me with a terrible sadness.

Hmm. Tough question. I would say that would depend on the circumstances. If the animal is in pain, and its life would be painful, I would say that it would not be humane to make it suffer for a little more time forus? Would it? However putting it down because you don't want it any-more, would be, in my opinion, murder. Animals aren't objects, they're living creatures, and they deserve the same right to life as us.:)
