Anyone here live near or in that areas with a kitten that needs a good home? I am looking to hook up Patrick with a new kitten as his that he recenlty got died. He got it at shelter and it died shortly afterwards. They do not want another shelter kitty and take the chance of going trough that again.
Patrick is the 16 year old boy who was burned in a house fire and it broke his heart when little Kitler died. He said Kit didn't care what he looked like before or what he looks like now and it was his best friend and a lot comfort to him..
I want to find him a kitty that is already vetted, healthy and will be his snuggle buddy. I think he needs this bad! Anyone have one? I am emailing them the Petfinder page on the rescues in their area but if I could find him one or leads on some in foster care that someone here has, I would feel so much better!
HELP!

Would he be willing to travel an hour and half? One By One has some awesome kitties for adoption.... I'm thinking Promise for him. But Promise is an older kitty (about 7 or 8) Does he want a kitten? If so how old? We do have oodles of kittens for adoption. But I think Promise would be a super guy.... the ultimate lap cuddler and he misses his human man who died. They could help each other grieve and heal.
I'm in NJ but quite a distance from Bridgewater. My daughter found one of her kitties at the Burlington County Animal Shelter and that is where I found my Ripley so I have quite a soft spot for them. :) There are a lot of pets that are in foster care at that shelter and I think that would be an excellent way to adopt a pet. The foster mom/dad can give lots of info about the pet and his/her likes, dislikes, traits, etc. My daughter got her other kitty at another NJ shelter but he was never on Petfinder. He was being fostered and the shelter put her in touch with his foster mom after she began e-mailing the shelter about what she was looking for in a kitty. He was a street kitty and has just become the most dear house cat you could ever want. The foster mom was exactly right about his super duper little personality.
The Burlington County Animal Shelter is in Mt. Holly and about 45 min. north of me. Bridgewater is maybe another 45 min. north of there (just guessing). I am sure there is a closer shelter, but I would definitely try and adopt a pet that is being fostered no matter where he goes.
Here is the website for the Burlington County Animal Alliance.

Hello from Flemington, NJ!! I just looked at S.A.R.A. site, they are located in Berkeley Heights. They are having an adoption day today at the Petco in the Blue Star shopping center in Watchung, NJ(twenty minutes or so from Bridgewater) 12 noon until 5p, ans they have a few kittens. In case Patrick might reconsider and want an older cat. At the Plainfield Area Humane Society, Rock Avenue(right off route 22 eastbound)is a dear older cat. Her name is SNOWFLAKE, solid black, sweet female about 8ish. She belong to a nun and had to be turned into the shelter when Sister became very ill. Snowflake loves to be groomed and is a lap kitty. Good luck...

Instead Of A Kitten, Could You Please Look At A Young Cat 2 Or 3 Years Old.
They Still Have A Lot Of Kitten In Them, And Thier Purrsonalities Are A Lot More Settled. They Are So Ignored By Potential Adopters When They Have So Much Love To Give.
Please Give A Young Cat Some Thought.

Hi Laura, Unfortunately Bridgewater is a bit of a haul from Trenton and I wish more than anything I could do something to help Patrick after all this poor boy has been through. Another possibility might be to contact some of the vets in the area to see if they have a kitty that was abandoned at their office and is in need of a loving home. A few years back I took Groucho to our vet for a check up and there was a beautiful kitty sitting on the reception desk. The receptionist told me the owner brought kitty in and never came back for her. Kitty was adopted rather quickly.

Please let us know what happens!!! I just looked at the photos of Patrick and the brown tabby, just so precious!! I could be wrong, but it sure sounds like that Kitler may have had distemper...so sad, we lost a little girl to it after only having her for 2 days...Kilter knows how much Patrick loved him and still cuddles with him. Sleep softly little Kilter....

They have seen the pictures of Chip and Dale Jen last posted here of the two. I heard back from Patricks mother today saying they has seen the pictures and were out right then, searching for a kitty.. She didn't say where they were going to look, just that they had gone. I sent her a email with everyones suggestions/offers/links so who knows?? If any of you hear there was a young man with burns that came adopt a kitty from your orginazation, you can bet it was them!
It just upset me so bad that after ALL he has been through, he finds a companion kitty and loves it... then it dies. I couldn't sit here and not do something and I knew my friends here would step up for me!
Thank's to ALL of you.... keep fingers crossed!

Oh if they don't find what they're looking for today, Chip & Dale would be totally purrfect for Patrick! Two of them to keep eachother company and Patrick company too. It seems a match made in heaven!
I hope Patrick finds what he's looking for :)
