I was heading out last night for a rare night out, and got a call shortly before I left. A woman fairly nearby had rescued a VERY pregnant kitty off the bitter cold streets. "Kim" said she had seen the cat outside eating bones and whatever other garbage she could find and was able to lure her in after a few days. The little kitty is sooo sweet, and did nothing to deserve being thrown away like yesterdays trash! She took the kitty to a local shelter and they did a blood test and it came up a weak positive for FeLV. :( They wanted to euthanise the cat on the spot, but Kim said no and took her home. That's where I came in...via the "grapevine". Kim couldn't keep the kitty, so she's here, and looks to be due any minute. Please say some prayers that she'll have an easy delivery, and that when she goes in for the next FeLV test, that will be sent out to a lab (brain fart on the name of the test) that she'll be negative. This little cat is just the sweetest dear.

Poor girlie!!! So glad she is in a safe place now I dread to think what may have happened to her if she gave birth in the freezing cold. We know the babies never would have made but she may have not made it either. God bless the lady the got her out of the cold and bless you too.
My Vixen is FeLv+ and my vet suggested giving her Royal Canin with immunity support to keep her immune system high. Just a thought and I don't know if this is worht trying or not but what about getting her some royal canin with immunity support. It may just give her immune system a boost and she can fight off the weak virus. If it is weak then maybe ya know.
Hope all goes easy and well with her delivery and that she test negative in the retest.

Thank you my friends...it's so PAINFULLY cold out right now, that there's no way any newborn wet baby could make it. :( I'm cold INSIDE! Such sweet sweet trash. *sigh* :( Yes.I'm depressed. :( And worried now as mom to be hasn't eaten. I know when labor starts they don't eat, but this isn't typical.. (been there & done that)..and from a very viral area. :( Panleukopenia has been rampant in this area, so extra prayers are needed that this girl doesn't harbor the virus from Hell. :(

WOuld she take some warm water, milk and a bit of sugar from a dropper?
Even if you don't have kitty milk, it would get something into her....
Poor baby...PT Prayers are holding her and you!

I guess it's off to the market to get some chicken to boil up. Stinks up the place, but nutrients and hot chicken soup is needed. I have two expectant mamas here, one is fighting an awful URI since I got her, and isn't responding well to antibiotics (10 days now :( ), and she'll be making a trip to the vet tomorrow for a different antibiotic, hopefully a shot to kick this nasty bug out of her fast. She's as wide as she is long, and has been kicking around on the streets for a long time....another sweet throw away.
Little mama to be # 2 is eating a tiny bit of kitten food, but should be ravenous with the load she's carrying. She's had kittens before (both cats have) as they both have those pre-used nipples. Winter is soooo hard on abandoned cats. :( Arghhh.

I have no doubt that she is in the best hands she can be in. If anyone can pull her through and make her healthy, it is YOU so she has the best chance where she is.
