I think that is just markings like a birth mark.

Nice picture too. Can't believe it is so clear, my pics usually blurr if I take it to close.

What a fabulous photo! I adore Fister. His face has such character! Now having seen his incredible looking mother I can see where his good looks come from!

Yes, that is a fact! :D John took this picture, so credits go to him - but then, he worked as a photograper for many years. ;)

Good job John! I've never really seen Fister this close, haven't noticed his markings. Can I say again how cute he looks? Well, he looks sooooooooooo cute!!! :)

I would like Miley to "take up" with Fister and travel through the ALPS or some place like that. I just love Fister's "look".... don't mind the little discolorations on his lip. Think of them as character marks.

Incredibly handsome boy!!

My Bo, orange and white, also has a spot on his lip like Fister. I asked the vet about it when Bo was a little young thing and the vet said that orange cats tend to get them more than other colors. He said it could be removed if it gets large and bothersome, but right now it's just a spot and (I think) kind of cute.

There's an orange cat at the pet food store that I patronize and he has about 10 spots on his lips. It looks like he's been eating dirt!

I thought they looked kind of like freckles. You know how redheads are more prone to freckles than others, so it makes sense that orange kitties are more prone to freckles too. :) I think they're kind of cute. :D

Beautiful Fister! :) &:cool:

One of my cats has those lip-markings. They were lighter when he was young and greww darker after about the age of 5 years.
I call them 'beauty spots' :)
