CROSSPOST

Yesterday, the TSCA Corresp. Secretary received an email stating that
several Tibetan Spaniels had been rescued as part of a Animal Services seizure that took place Thursday in Baker, Florida. I was familiar with the
two ladies (this is not the first time Animal services has visited
them) and felt sure there were no Tibetan Spaniels , but went to check anyway.

There were no Tibetan Spaniels , BUT there were 92 Great Danes, Labs, Poms, Pekes, and Cairns and various mixes of the above breeds removed from
the home. If anyone has contacts with rescue groups from these breeds
who might be able to help, please ask them to contact the Panhandle
Animal Welfare Society at http://www.paws-shelter.com This is a kill
shelter and they rarely keep dogs more than 7 days (if that long).
There is no court case pending as no charges were filed and the ladies
surrendered the dogs...so the clock is ticking.

I have emailed a personal rescue contact of mine, as well as a few dane rescues and rescues in that area. I'll let you know if anything turns up.

Syd, I will call Deb and Rita both of them still have ties with a dane Rescue in Mo. Wish I knew more people with little dogs I have no contacts here in Illinois for them :(

I will also call Karen Fox out in Yavapai I know she has contacts all over for Danes, and yes I will of course ring my family out in Fla. and see if they can help.

Borzoimom, is a terrier judge she may have a few contacts for rescues in the terrier end, maybe not.

I do have a contact here that has a poodle rescue, she may know a few ppl for the other breeds,

How sad that no charges could be filed.

This is close to southern Alabama and Georgia as well, so if you crosspost further, you may want to say that it's in North Florida.

This is close enough for me to drive to, but I'm not sure what I could do? Do you know if the FL Great Dane and Lab rescues have been contacted?

This is what the central florida dane rescue sent me...so I would think things are looking up for those dogs.

------------------------------------
We’ve already talked with the shelter, there were 102 dogs total, of various breeds. Only 15 were Danes and they have all of the Danes taken care of.
