Along the lines of the Department of Redundancy Department thread, but in a somewhat different vein:
I'm a tech, I work on machinery and computers for a living.
Part of my job is knowing OSHA and Postal regs related to my job safety. The Post office clarifies OSHA regs and updates their safety policies (Particularly maintenance safety) annually.
The new Postal reg states that ANY TIME I am using tools inside a machine the machine MUST be powered down and locked out. Only one problem, as illustrated by the following conversation:
Don, did you actually read the new policy?
Yes, fred, I did, Why?
Just one question. Is a multimeter a tool?
Yup
Is an O-scope a tool?
Yup
Okay, Don, How in heck am I supposed to make voltage and signal measurements with NO POWER!?
Don walks away confused. He never did get back to me on that one.
