Tasha (beloved shelter dog)

She wasn't my dog, she was at the shelter where I volunteer..
anyways, we adopted her out to this really nice lady who had a couple kids.
and we never knew she was a biter at all. She was returned on January, 26th, I believe because she bit the lady's son and 2 other people that I believe were kids. So she was returned. :( and they all were serious bites.
You see, we're not a kill shelter, we just put down unadoptable animals that are bite cases and sick.. which all of the ones we had to put down were court ordered to be pts (bite cases) and we haven't euthanized any, healthy adoptable animal. anyways, I had a connection with Tasha and I bonded with her. I get attached so easily. She was pts yesterday (Monday, January 29th)
this shows how you cannot save them all and it sucks. :(

she was a beautiful, sweet rottie mix and about 6 years old.

That's so so sad.

Of course we don't know the circumstances but if you didn't know she bit while at the shelter, I always blame it on sudden fear in a new envirnoment, maybe the kids teased her.. I mean I always think of it as dogs can't slap you and say "Stop bothering me" or whatever, so they only have teeth to use. Tasha looked like a sweetie. She does have beautiful eyes.

You'll be happy and safe at the bridge, Tasha. My RB Cody will watch over you.

Tasha was beautiful Krista. It's so sad this has to happen. I know how happy you are each time one gets adopted and then this happens. :( Tasha is happy, running and playing at the Rainbow Bridge. {hugs}

That is so sad. I volunteer at a no kill shelter also but a few weeks ago they euthanized (I think nobody would really tell me) a lab because he bit a volunteer, he was just trying to get his ball out of her hand but he locked on and wouldn't let go.

I am not sure, what I heard was that they were running around and she got excited and she bit them. thanks for your kind words also, I appreciate them. I wish she could have been saved, but unfortunately you cannot save them all and it sucks. :(

Poor girl. I, too, wonder if the people did something because she looks like such a sweet soul. She's got a smile just like Dasher. I feel so badly for you both. I hope she's got a much better place at the RB. I honestly don't think I could even work at a shelter. My heart couldn't take the sadness.
