...about a stray cat who lives at the buiding site. :( Several times during the night, he miaws loudly to tell me "Now he's there!"

Well, Fister and I had a littlle chat about this, and we agreed that if I go and feed him a few times a day and make sure he/she doesn't freeze, then he'll stop waking me up in the night. I do need my beauty sleep! ;)

So, yesterday I went to a greengrocer and got two little boxes which I put together with tape and covered with plastic. Inside are newspaper and a few blankets.

Since the Board here don't want anyone to feed stray cats, I went to have a chat with the people in the "office" of the building site to ask if it was OK with them that I put the house inside their fences. It was OK. :) Now, I still had to find the right place to put it, where people from the street can't see it, so I put it by one of the containers hidden by lots of other stuff, and I put a wood shelf in front of it.

Only problem was, I was worried the cat didn't find it. It has been pretty cold the last few days - about 27 Fahrenheit. Another girl next door and I have been giving the cat some food whenver we saw it, but I wanted the cat to find the house, so I cooked some chicken last night and went down to put it outside the house, hoping he/she would smell it.

So today, when I looked out of the window, I saw the cat playing happily close the house. :D I grabbed my camera and got a video. I'm sure he/she was playing with a mouse! I then went down with some more chicken and managed to get a closer picture, unfortunately, he/she turned and ran with the chicken - I think to his house. :)

The first time I saw this cat was in late December, and I thought someone had let him/her out, but since it's still here, it must be a lost cat. :( I called my vet to hear if anyone had been looking for a cat of this description - there was one. So I got the no. and called her. Then I sent her the picture and video. Unfortunately, it wasn't hers. :(

My next door neighbor told me she had seen a note down by the lakes about a lost cat, so she is getting that tel. no. on her way back today. I haven't heard yet.

Anyway, here's a picture and two video clips. Hope you can view them! You need QuickTime.

What a lovely cat! I'm so glad that he/she found the little house, with the way the temperatures have plummeted everywhere.

It's not Eddie come to visit his Auntie Randi is it? :D

I cannot view the videos... :( . I have both Quick time and Realplayer! Your videos open with Realplayer, but then it says I cannot view them because there is no update available...

What a beautiful cat! Isn't Pjevs house there anymore?

I'm sure he/she is very happy that they have a place to sleep now and some food coming his/her way.

Keep working with this little guy and the baby will be eating out of your hands and trusting you in no time.

Ohh, if only! ;)

I was just down with some ham chunks and he/she came out from under a car, so I don't know for sure if the kitty has found the house - or he/she may not be freezing as much as I imagine. Anyway, she/he ran around to find all the pieces of ham. The workmen has left and the fence facing this way has been closed, but I suppose I can go the other way around to get in there.

I still haven't heard from the girl next door about the note someone put up. Hmm!!

I spoke to another friend across the road, he seems interested in this kitty. We'll talk more tomorrow.

Please send some warm vibes to the kitty, it's freezing cold outside.

I'm sorry some of you can't view the video. If I stream it as .avi the quality goes bad. So not really sure what to do, to get it down in size and also be viewable.

What a pretty kitty. I'm glad you and Fister came to an agreement about the feeding and care of his outside pal. What a good boy Fister is!

Hope you are able to help the kitty find his home or at least his 'new' one. ;)

Poor kitty. Much love to you Randi for the help you are giving him/her. {{hugs}}

I've converted the two videos to wmv for those who couldn't see the Quicktime, but, as Randi wrote, there is a loss of quality.

This is a great story, and I love the fact that so many people are working together for "your" outside cat. He/She looks very attractive and not too worn by life on the streets. It would be wonderful if your neighbor decided to take her in and make sure she has a warm, cosy home from now on.

Thanks Chris, hopefully more can see it now. :)

These are the options I have (see attached!)

I'm a bit dissapointed that I haven't heard from the girl next door. This kitty needs a home - soon!

That is so nice of Fister to tell you about that kitty, so you can help him. He reminds me of Dino, very cute! :)

I could not see the movies at work but I'll try again at home. Randi and Fister, you are guardian angels for this poor Kitty :)

Trevor is giving two paws up to Fister for alerting you to this kitty's plight. I was able to view the video ChrisH posted and he/she appears to be in good health. It does look like he/she might be playing with some potential "food" but I suspect the chicken and ham you are offering will have more allure. Please do keep us updated on Fister's new pal. :)

I'm getting a bit confused about this kitty. Have not seen him/her for two days. The girl next door now says the note has been taken down - according to her, the wanted kitty was called Villy.

Since last, I have also sent the picture and video to my vet, and they will contact me if anyone asks for a kitty that description.

I have been talking to a few more people about the kitty, and one says that she has seen one in a window looking like the description of this kitty, the owner of this is living one staircase down from my friend who took Fister for the weekend recently. I would have thought she'd have told me. Hmm! I went round to ring her doorbell twice, but no one home.

I do hope that this girl is the owner, and if she is, I'll have a chat with her about how to care for her kitty!

Good boy Fister for looking after your friend!!!

I sure hope the owner realized she needs to keep her kitty inside or it may be going to a new home!!! After all, a stray looks just like a kitty with a home unless there is a collar or something. :)

Well, I finally found the owner of the cat in the window home - it was not her's. I saw the one she has, it grey and white OK, but has more white and in different places. I'm getting to know people this way. ;)

I really do hope the other kitty has found a home!
