A Newfie?? I can't think of any other dogs named after an island, even though New Foundland isn't really an island, but a peninsula. And I can't picture a Newfie as a gun dog.

Is your breed of dog your favorite breed of dog, becase if it is a sheltie I got both of the answers right, and whoever else thought it was a sheltie.

Hey, I don't think Lut was trying to be funny, or to insult the Jindo dog. It is extremely rare in this country, and I don't know about Lut's home country, and it does kind of look like a short-haired Chow Chow, from the pictures I have seen.

For centuries, the Jindo dog, named after Jindo Island in Southwest Korea, was only available on the island. Under Korean national law, the Jindo dog is protected as the 53rd Natural Monument. Exporting Jindos out of Korea is prohibited, however Korean-Americans have been bringing Jindos to America since the mid-1980's.
