I've been bad. I stopped at the pet store to get some meds for and outbreak of columnaris in a tank, and to see about some cichlids. I didn't get any cichlids, instead I looked into the mixed species feeder tank. I spent 36 cents on two fish. One black/orange common goldfish and one sunfish. I think its a pumpkinseed, but it might be a longfin, it young yet. Right now he's getting 20 gallons to himself. Hopefully he won't get bigger than 5 inchs. Now I need to find a store that will sell mts because sunfish like snails. I gave him some frozen brine shrimp, but he won't eat it. Either he's too stressed yet or he wants something moving. He was in the tank of the smallest feeder fish so he had a living menu to choose from. Picky bugger, but at least he'll never know the joys of becoming a fish sandwich.

Congrats on the new guys!
Don't you just love the picky fish? :D At first, one of my cichlids I inherited wouldn't eat anything but live crickets. x_x It was a pain, but eventually he got used to eating pellets.
I'd love to see pictures of your fish sometime. =]

Congrats!They both sound beautiful. :D
Don't you love spoiled fish.My female betta Coral would only eat freeze-dried bloodworms for the first two days I had her.She now eats her pellets without a problem.

Columnaris is a bacteria that looks like white fungus on the fish. Usually when people try treating fish for fin rot or mouth fungus and the fish die anyway, it actually was columnaris. Its a tricky bacteria, but its already starting to clear up with two days of treatment. I really do have to get hold of a good camera and get pics of everybody.

Yep, anybody can get it, there are very few diseases that only one type of fish can get.
