No breed is a true "purebred" unless it is a Wolf or something. And Wolves do not make great pets.
I AM SO OUTRAGED!!!! DOES THIS SOUND LIKE SOMEONE PROFESSIONAL....
"OR SOMETHING." PLEASE! this is ridiculous! im so ticked off right now, these poor puppies....and did you read they are looking into min. saint bernards! what idiots!
"Puppies that are born, that we do not need for our future breeding plans, are offered for sale to private families. So, once in awhile, we may have a crossbred litter that is not in our normal breeding program. These are still wonderful puppies! "
so this means what? that they just have a bunch of un-neutored and un-spayed dogs running around humping each other and they dont care! GGRRR...

It's an online puppy mill! Rather than sell to brokers at discounted prices, they've found a way to grab the brass ring and keep all the profit for themselves.
Who are the people that are dumb enough to buy from these unethical puppy factories?

Looking through the breeder I found this...
$100 off if you buy two puppies at the same time, plus they can be shipped together for the same price as one!
Dogs are not accessories nor are they a item. They do not care about these dogs at all.

I really don't know anything about dogs or dog breeds but I have a story to tell you.
Recently my brother and SIL decided that they'd like to get a puppy. My SIL and her sister researched different breeds and decided that a Puggle would be perfect. I had never heard of them before so I looked them up on the internet and I saw a few breeders that were in the San Diego area where they live. I thought that at least they'd be able to go over and visit the breeder and see the living conditions of the dogs and also meet the parents.
It turns out that the local breeder has the puppies flown in from some other state. I told my mom that this didn't sound very good and that my SIL should just go visit her local shelter and adopt a puppy or small dog from there. Well she really wanted a Puggle and made a deposit to the breeder. They had about 15 puppies that would be ready for homes shortly before Christmas. She really wanted a female and was able to get the last one.
The puppy arrived on Dec.22nd. I've never met the puppy which they named Molly but I saw a few pictures of her and she's adorable. My mom said that she's very sweet and playful. A few days later she was coughing so they took her the vet and found out that she had kennel cough.:( She was put on antibiotics but a few days before New Year's day she became worse.
They took her to the vet again and her lungs were full of fluid and there was a shadow around her heart.:( She also had a very high fever and the vet didn't think that she'd make it through the night.:( She was given some very strong antibiotics and my SIL put her in a steamy bathroom and stayed with her during the night. She luckily made it through the night.
My brother called the breeder and told him what was going on and that he should call all of the other people and let them know that the puppies that they adopted might get very sick. The breeder hung up on him. Luckily my brother was able to stop the payment on the check that he had given the breeder. He knows he'll never hear from him again.
The vet said that the Molly probably came from a puppymill or a back yard breeder but by this point they were in love with her and didn't care. They just wanted to get her healthy again. I think that Molly is recovering and doing well now but I haven't heard anything to confirm this. They learned the hard way and hopefully Molly will continue to be a happy and healthy little girl.
I really wish that this breeder could be put out of business and forced to shut down. It makes me so mad and sad at the same time. He only cares about making money and not about the health of his dogs and puppies. Thanks for reading my story and letting me vent.

That website really makes me ill. I wonder how many dogs she has...way too many, as she should have none. I hate all the stupid "designer dog" names they come up with too. Copica? Shakopee? It sounds like the dogs are bred every heat pretty much.
Another unfortunate thing is that these "breeders" are always advertising the low or non-shedding because the dog is part poodle, but they always fail to mention the grooming requirements. I can't count how many people have come into our shop with some sort of pom-poo, labradoodle, or whatever and they don't have a clue that their dog will need regular haircuts. Non-shedding does not mean low-maintenence.

As long as there are people who buy these animals, they will remain in business. If everyone here emails them, at least they will know that there is a strong opposition to what they are doing. They can't possibly have enough people to take proper care of all of these animals. Greedy people really P_SS me off!
For every person who goes and visits the site, and emails them (which they won't care about anyway, and it won't "show" them anything that will ever matter), you are bumping them up the search engine. Therefore, everyone who does a search for "puppies" etc, will be more and more likely to find THIS breeder and give them money, which will only make the problem worse. By visiting the site you are actually helping them.....might want to think about that and stop visiting the site. Your emails won't help the dogs, but by going there you are helping promote their site and giving them more and more hits.

What are angry/attacking e-mails going to do? They aren't going to do anything. As has been stated, posting the link here and everyone going to the site is doing these "breeders" a favor by giving their site traffic and moving them up in the search engine. If we knew the dogs were in poor condition then they could be reported. However we don't know that, and unfortunately what they are doing is not illegal. They don't believe what they are doing is wrong, and they are not suddenly going to change their ways because of irate e-mails from random people off the internet, that only amounts to harassment. Only friends and acquaintances they know and have a relationship with would have the chance to dissuade them in any way.

You're kind of right on this. One thing I never knew is actually it's not the most popular it's who pays the most money to put their site in the top spots.
I'm very tempted to e-mail as well. I really wonder how crazy someone has to be to justify something like this. And then it will be a whole family of crazies cause they're raising their children to think this way, and so on and son on. Just wow.

That is not completely true, traffic is a very big determining factor as where they end up on the search engines. They can pay companies to GET them more traffic, i.e. this: http://www.megawebpromotion.com/ But if they get a lot of traffic for free it still moves up their page ranking. That is what ads on websites do, they pay for those ads to give them more traffic and thus bump them up.

Link Popularity
by Jill Whalen
Updated in August 2004
For years, "link popularity" and "Google PageRank" have been the talk of the town in the search engine optimization community. However, the definition of link popularity and how it differs from PageRank (PR), as well as how much effect these actually have on search engine rankings, is often misunderstood.
What is Link Popularity?
The theory goes something like this: The search engine Powers That Be have decided that if other sites are linking to your site, it must be a winner; therefore, it deserves a boost in rankings (when all else is equal). If you think about it, this makes a lot of sense. People link to good sites, not bad ones.
You CAN pay to have your links higher up, but by something suddenly becoming popular and getting more hits, the above happens as well. They don't check all the sites, but if they see one getting a ton of hits, it can move up as well. I just hate to see someone so apparently disgusting get "help" to sell their poor mutts=/

Obviously we own Aussies too! Melody has ever had 2 puppies in her life so far. Harmony one.. Peppy & Little Red have not had any at all yet. I am WELL aware of the Aussie temperment! These girls will NEVER be bred often, as they are very busy with their shows!
And crossing with a Poodle.. These little Aussiedoodles have GREAT temperments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Molly is totally AWESOME!!!!!!!! ALL are!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you known any Aussiedoodles personally? Have you even ever known any Poodles personally?
Besides that, we have long term goals, for a new breed, that needs to include the Aussiedoodles....... Aussies sure have something to add! They are very smart, fun, not shy dogs.. (Mine anyway..)
Not mutts, as they sure have a pedigree! There are MANY purebreds in shelters also....... Which ARE mutts though, because they have unknown pedigrees......... I have seen many Aussies in Shelters.. (Purebred ones..)
If Aussies are so wonderful on their own right, why do YOU say that they have temperment problems? Obviously NOT so great then!!!!!!!!!!!! You talk in circles.......
If someone wants an Aussie, they can go to a shelter and get one.. Anyone can get ANY breed at a Shelter...........
MY puppies NEVER go to shelters!!!!!!!!!! My mail box was FULL, for weeks in a row, of Christmas cards of pictures of puppies that we bred......... I receive wonderful pictures & letters and emails everyday!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't click the link, as Vela said, it does provide hits for the site which will bump up its place on search engines.
However, from what I've read on this thread, this breeder appears to me to have an IQ of a five-year-old. I can't believe how many designer breed names I've seen in posts, a huge variety indeed. :(

Our primary focus is to breed healthy, cute, colorful, unique, family dogs, with great temperments, and hopefully smart and easy to train. Family dogs being the key word. Though many dogs are bred for a more nobel occupation, such as hunting, guard, rescue, search, service dogs, show, herding, ect.. We feel that many of these are not great family dogs. Such as a guard dog may be too mean? A search & rescue dog may have too much energy, too hard to handle, for the average family? A hunting dog may run off, wanting to go hunting. Herding dogs are also most often highly energetic, and get bored easily, which causes them to get into a lot of trouble. Of coarse, many of our dogs are hunting dogs, or herding dogs, ect.. But by crossbreeding, we are trying to breed great pets!
This is what I hate. There is no need for breeding JUST for pets. A working dog that doesn't like working, a show dog that will not win, a shelter dog on death row just because he was a puppy and chewed someon's shoes, do these not make wonderful pets????? :(
So glad to know you put something on your professional website that you're not sure about, then decide to let us know by adding a question mark.
20% of all dogs brang to Human Societies, came from Human Societies, and were brought back ;o( Training/aggression, and just not good dog problems.. ;o( 41% of all dogs brought into Human Societies, people had gotten free, or for $100 & under.. Free & cheap dogs/puppies are not looked on as valuable enough.. Not taken to puppy classes, owners not bonding with them enough ;o( Many are strays... Also, the breed, or breeds, of human society dogs are often just guesses. Parents of the dog or puppy completely unknown. I myself adopted a puppy at a human society called a "Lab Cross".. He grew up to be crossed with a Doberman, was difficult to handle, (impossible for the kids), and eventually bit my daughter, without being provoked. He was also very hyper, and controling with other dogs.
Would you look at that! They don't want to deal with actually understanding or training their dogs so they just breed more they like. Breedists, and they have revolting grammar on their site that's supposed to show them in the best light!

This person is obviously not going to change her ways because people she doesn't even know emailed her. It's the sad truth, some people don't like to hear others opinions. It would be quite a bit different if you knew the person to begin with. Best of luck to her dogs, that they end up in good homes.
English Cockers are not the smallest of the gun dog group... American Cockers are. They are very different breeds.

I will admit, we got Zoee from a breeder. :( I can honestly say the next animal we ever get, and any from now on, will be saved from a shelter or rescue. This website has helped me realize how many loving animals there are out there that need a home.

The thing is, she is COMPLETELY irreputable, in like every possible way. At least some of the designer mix breeders sell on spay/neuter contracts, and give some kind of health guarentee. This lady says she's selling "pets"... so, why is she offering breeding pairs and never spaying or neutering even adults that she's selling?
I don't think it makes a big difference whether or not PT checks out the website. Those are very, very few numbers compared to the probably thousands of people who have her puppies. And, at least people are trying. I definitely feel it's better to speak up, as trivial as it is talking to such an idiot, than to just sit quietly and say there's nothing that can be done.
Honestly, getting a bunch of concerned e-mails at least makes her feel a little more guilty, and puts her in check, even a little bit. It sounds like she lives in complete ignorance, in a land of butterflies & sunshine & lollipops & cute fuzzy (unhealthy, poorly socialized, money-making) puppies.
