Hi,

I've been eagerly checking to see what the Pet Talkers who attended this weekend's Cat Show at the San Jose CA Fairground had to say about it.

Bad enough my car trouble made me miss it :( :( but I'm also missing people's comments on it, too.

(Or is the thread here and I've just missed it?)

Sorry I can't help as I didn't make it and haven't seen any updates either. KAK? Wolflady? Did you go?

Yes, we DID go. Sorry, I didn't have a camera with me, so you'll have to wait for KAK or Wolflady to sign in.

Not a very big show, but there were LOTS of Persians and other longhairs. I chatted with a lady who was brushing her three  Himalayans for the show ring: "They're definitely not wash-and-wear cats." Meanwhile, one hooman slave to an orange Maine coon was trying to keep up with his grooming... he insisted on doing his own, and she kept having to re-comb the spots. :D

We also spotted a white Oriental who was a close match for Wolflady's soon-to-be kitty Hunter. Wolflady got some information from the owner as to size, so she could choose a carrier for her new prince.

KAK and I stayed for the finals in Household Pet. The judge admitted that she enjoyed the HHP division, because she could just ignore breed specifications and choose the cat that she liked the best. The winner, a brown tabby-and-white shorthair, climbed up on her shoulder and purred. I picked one of the others, a silver tabby-point medium-hair girl named Gromit (!), for the People's Choice award.

Best bumper sticker I saw for sale: SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL CAT HOUSE. :o

Lots of fun. Now I have to get back to looking for a job. :(

As always, it was a fun time. I so enjoy going to these shows, no matter how big or small they are. There were quite a few persians and other long-haired breeds at this show like DJM mentioned in her post. I took some pictures with my new camera, but haven't had time to upload them anywhere. I'm still learning how to use my new camera! :o

Unfortunately, Linda couldn't make it to the show, so I didn't get Hunter yet. I did buy him a new bed and pad to lay on, with KAK's help. :)

KAK and I both gave our "people's choice" ribbon to a very feisty and cute Birman baby. So cute!

I, of course, watched the judging of the orientals. One of the white ones one best of breed! :) There were 2 whites, a mackeral tabby and a black-n-white oriental in the judging ring.

I purchased a Laural Burch "indigo cats" purse and matching mug and earrings and some blue cat socks. There were these cute "irish kitty" figurines that I was tempted to buy, but resisted. *ya! go me!* ha ha

I can't believe I forgot to get the wine charms! *smacks forhead with palm*

Oh well...next time! :D

The Sad Thing Is Now That I Ahve A Digital Camera, There Are No Cat Shows That I Can Go To.
Thats So Sad As I Would Love To Get Great Photos Of Some Fantastic Looking Cats.

That is a bummer, Gary! Perhaps we could look online for a list of all shows going on to see if there is anything coming your way this year?

**hugs**
