Ugg... this winter has been so perfect, yet so annoying in the same amount. I live in northern Minnesota, about 60 miles from the Canadian border and we've only had about 1 inch of snow, which is melting. Every day has been 20-40 degress F, when it usually is about -20 degrees this time of year. Today, instead of snow we got rain! But, the temperature is starting to fall and everything is freezing. The roads are slick and there's a pretty good chance that this ice covering may short out some power lines. My boyfriend had to bring me home this evening early so the roads wouldn't be horrible yet, but the water droplets on the trees were already freezing, though, it sure is beautiful.

From what I've heard all this is caused by "el nino", though I haven't been paying too much attention to what it is, how is it effecting everyone else?

 Every day my huskies look at me and ask "But where's the snow?" However, since my husband is doing quite a bit of traveling, I don't mind our warmer weather.

I hate it, no snow. It's just not suppose to be like this, it's suppose to be winter. I have even changed my location from NE Ohio to MUD! It's only snowed once and I have my puppy Layla who liked the snow and wants snow to play in. :(

I think your missing snow has been misdelivered to me in Denver. Please let me know where to send it. :D

Let me tell you it is meant to be summer in NZ, so far i have still had to put the heater on on occasion, today it is only 19 degrees c and it is windy and rainy, we have had so much wind, have not even been able to sit outside on the verandah and have dinner as i planned on our table and chairs with our fairy lights and candle, was to be romantic, yeah right, too cold, even had to sit in the car on a picnic too cold to venture out and too windy.

We really only have jan and feb left of our real summer, both those months are usually the hottest, and march can be too depending, although usually cooler in evenings and mornings, so far all our evenings and mornings are just like march-april weather cool, now i hate the heat myself, but even i am complaining, i do want a little bit of summer weather before winter hits us again.

We are having a wet one so far without to much cold weather. Seems like it has been raining forever lately! Flash floor warnings all day...

CatsinDenver, how about sending a lot of that white stuff east (to Pittsburgh!) so that we can have a normal winter! At the end of December I'm driving around with my car window open for goodness sakes!

NJ has had beautiful weather this winter! It's been mild and no snow, I hate snow. I wish it would stay in the 50's or 60's all year around. I love this type of weather. :)

What a fitting post for today.

Once again we have rain:rolleyes:
Don't get me wrong I love the warmer weather we're having, but I could SO do without this rain. The ground hadn't even dried out from the rain a few days ago, and now we're supposed to get 1/2" or more.

And i have to agree with you Pat...we need some snow for our huskies:D

I'm in Iowa visiting family, so I know what you all are saying. And I'm not complaining- after several feet of snow the rain with mild temperatures are nice! :)

I left last Wednesday afternoon to beat the snow, but at my house my husband says we now have about 3 feet in our yard...

We are having a very mild winter in Kentucky. The rainfall has been more but no snow yet. Temperatures have been great in mid 50's to 60's. We put up our Christmas lights after Thanksgiving in short-sleeve shirts. I've worn my winter coat 2 times in last couple months.
Today it's raining again :( but temperatures are going to be near 60 degrees. We've had cool nights 35-40 degrees.
I can handle this kind of weather.

At the end of December I'm driving around with my car window open for goodness sakes! I was walking around in flip-flops yesterday under beaming, warm sunshine. Today it's cold, dreary and gray, with rain in the forecast for New Year's Eve, however we've had very little rain this winter, compared to years past. I'm not minding, though - we had flooding last New Year's. Except for one blustery heavy rainstorm this past week, it's been lovely.

I think your missing snow has been misdelivered to me in Denver. Please let me know where to send it. :DJust as I suspected! You can direct it to your east, about 5 states over. We're the state right below Lake Erie on the map! The only snow we've had all winter was clear back around Halloween, a paltry dusting at that. I think those NE Ohioans got a good dumping of it (thanks to the "Lake effect") a while ago, but :o they didn't share either.

Tell me about it. Here it is usually -35 C and this year it's been right around the freezing point and raining non-stop. I love snow, but rain depresses me. It's really cold MASS quantites of rain. And more rain. Everynow and then it'll go a few degrees below and the town is a skating rink of disasters. I wish it would just snow and stay that way. We had one inch of snow in september, then over 70 days of non-stop rain. We got a day and a half of mild pleasent-ness, then back to the rain! :( I hate rain! I live in canada to get snow, not rain. :P the annoying part is it's bitter cold, but raining. The wind chill around here is insane, so. To sum it up.

1) It's freezing cold
2) It's mega-windy, just to add some cold-ness.
3)The rain is about 30 degrees F, to give you more of a chill
4) the roads are a death trap.

And NO snow! Just depressing, cold rain! I hate rain and love snow, something is wrong with this picture. I all my years of living here, this is the first time we've had no snow on Christmas :( . In all my photos of past christmases, we've ALWAYS had between 2-4 feet of snow.

:) Thanks, I've wanted to rant about this for a while.

Its been an off & on blizzard all day here... LOVE IT! However I was still upset at the lack of snow  I wanted to see the 8' snow hills in the middle of the street again.

Back home in Toronto, I'm being told its nothing but rain & cool weather. It snowed a tiny bit, but melted  In the 2 winters I've lived in Toronto, I haven't had the need to lift a shovel lol

our weather is so insane over here lol when I went to saskatoon for a concert in late november, the streets there were snowly and cold, but here? in the queen city one -50*C? there was no snow and it was in the +'s lol now in December we have only just started getting snow that stays..sort of. one day its -30*C the next its +6*C no exaduartion. one day it snows the next it rains. I dont mind one bit, getting weather like this is extremly rare for the canadian prairies so I sure as heck aint complaining!

I'm not enjoying this winter weather were so far having. :( It's been a little above average and a bit chilly too at times, but not the kind of December weather I like, I prefer 30's and snow. Lots of snow, I adore snow and I just don't think were going to see any this year. :( I guess I will just have to settle for the rain and cloudy days, still beats summer though. :)

Good 'ol California. It has actually been warmer than usual here.
Although, I am just glad we have power this New Year's weekend. Last year it was out ALL weekend. No power on New Years Eve, that was a sad year. :(
We go to Tahoe for snow, and I think they have plenty there right now. :p
