Hey all. I have a request for all of you.
This afternoon, I was talking to my boss in his office when I heard the sound no animal lover ever wants to hear. A dog outside was yelping like I've never heard before. Just hearing it's helpless cry made my heart sink and my eyes tear up. I looked out the window and saw a man trying to get near an obviuosly injured dog. The dog was yelping and trying to bite him. My first thought was that this @#*! was trying to hurt this poor creature. I realized he was actually trying to help it. Thinking the dog was a stray, I looked up an "animal help" number and took my phone outside to see if I could do anything. Outside, I found the guy was the dog's owner and the dog was now cowering under a parked car. A few other woman were out there, as well. After about 10 minutes, we coaxed the dog out with PB crackers and lots of loving. He was happy to get in "his" truck, and his owner took him immediately to the animal hospital.
This poor pooch, obvously had a severely injured back leg. I hope he didn't have any internal injuries, but it's hard to tell those things. He was fully conscious so that's a good sign. If you all, could keep "Max" in your thoughts and prayers tonight, I sure would appreciate it. Thank you.
