There was a major accident involving an 18 wheeler and two cars RIGHT in front of my husbands work place. Only he and another man work there.
They were able to pull a man out but the woman and baby are still stuck in their vehicle. He'll give me more details and I'm sure I'll see it on the news. A major highway is shut down, etc.
I'll update when I get more info!
Please send good vibes for the families and for my husband and his coworker. Everyone is traumatized by the situation. :(
Edit: Just in case anyone wants to look up the info (I won't be able to update until later tonight but info will be available sooner, surely), the accident happened between Greenwood Road and Jewella Avenue in Shreveport, Louisiana. Right in front of Tune-a-car. There is another accident on Greenwood but it happened yesterday. (just so there is no confusion)

Yes, your husband and his co worker could have also been tramatized by what they saw so they need prayers too. Please keep a eye on him for the next month or so to make sure he is alright.

The accident was very, very bad. The people in the second vehicle (not the 18 wheeler) were alright. Their car is no longer drivable but that is the least of their worries right now.
Unfortunately, the news story revealed the horrific accident. It is the worst one I have ever seen. Ever. The three month old baby boy, strapped into his backseat carseat, did not survive. There was no hope for him. They used the jaws of life to free his body. The 26 year old mom was not breathing and had no pulse but they were able to resuscitate her and rushed her to the university hospital. The 28 yr old father had no serious injuries (except face cuts).
They have a big parking lot where my husband works. People were stopping and staring with BINOCULARS. Troy ran some off and then he got a cop to help him run the rest of those sick people off.
We are thinking about going to visit them. :(

Thanks for the update....did all kinds of searches on Shreveport news, and found nothing.
That poor couple....that they lived, and lost their baby....OMG. Prayers and more prayers for them...
Any word on whose fault the accident was?
Good for your husband for getting some of the vultures out of there so the cops and others could do their work.

Yes, it's the fault of the 18 wheeler. He was seen being hauled off in handcuffs.
One of the most frightening things was that the vehicles started to catch fire and they used up all their extinguishers on it and it kept going. :(
You know, if Troy would have left work at the time he was *supposed* to (I had called to see if they were closing up soon), it could or would have been him.
This is all a big swirl of events. He is pretty upset about it but we've had a fun day together so I think his mind is off of it.

I'm in near tears here. I had goosebumps after reading that the baby passed. I bet the parents feel so helpless, especially the father. :(
I wonder why the guy was handcuffed? I'll bet he was under the influence of something.
I witness an accident last night just as we got out of the car to go to Petsmart. A car full of kids, I'd say 18-19 year olds, ran into a ditch. Everyone was fine, thankfully.

Thats a terrible thing to have to witness.
And we are praying fot the Mother, and are heartbroken about that poor Baby.
The trucking firms are partly to blame as truckers often have to work long hours, to save the companies money.
We pray that justice is done in this case.

We thank you all for your support! :) Some of the details may be off because I got them from the first news story I heard on the television about it.
There has been an odd twist in this unfortunate event.
Troys mom is 53. She went to high school in Pleasant Hill. There, they had homecooked lunches every day. Her classmate was the mans (From the crash) father. The mans grandmother (dads mom) was one of the ladies who cooked the lunches.
Small, sad world. :(
