I won't be getting her for a while yet; about a year and a half or so but my family and I are trying to come up with a potential list of names that we all like. However, nobody likes the names that I like. My Dad wants to call her "Nova"...I like the name, but certainly not for a Toller. He also wants to name every female that enters the house, "Sasha". It's not an awful name, but I'd never want to own a dog by that name. I want to name her either "Epic", "River", or "Aero" - unless I think of something I like better than those when the time comes. I like names that are somewhat unique - something that you won't come across often, if at all. I've tried thinking of something that goes along with Tango really well, but I can't seem to come up with anything. If you have any suggestions, please share! I like to have a list of names ready before I bring a pup home. This thread isn't really of a whole lot of importance since I won't be getting her for a while yet, it's more so just for curiosities sake and to hopefully gather some other nice names before she arrives. Other names I like are:
- "Whisper"
- "Rain"
- "Rumour" (It's alright, but not may favourite - my mom likes this one the best)
Hopefully some of you will be able to help, or at least add your opinions on the names I have at the moment. A lot of people here seem to have interesting names, so I thought I'd ask. I have the hardest time choosing names, even when I actually have a dog here with me. For all I know, all the names I like are ridiculous...perhaps that's why nobody in my family likes them..lol.

I really like River too. It is a strong name. And yet a gentle name. I also like Whisper, it is different, and very pretty. Please let us know what you decide!!

I really like all of the water names. Rumour is one that really stands out, though. It sounds really strong and feminine. And here's an early congrats! Augh, you people are killing me; I think I'm coming down with "fever"!

Out of your lists, I like Epic and Rumour the best. Both of them are unique.
River and Whisper are more common names, in my opinion.
I'm a member of 2-3 other forums, and I know a couple of other dogs with those names.

All of the names are great, but I like Epic and Rumour best.

I like Rumor. I will admit, the others I have either heard or known other dogs with the same names in River. "Whisper" is a trick taught to dogs.
It is tough to name a dog you do not have yet. I have noticed they have a tendancy to name themselves- even getting a dog with one name in mind, only to have it change to something I had not even thought of..

Thanks everyone! Borzoimom, the fact that Whisper can also be taught as a trick doesn't bother me as it isn't something I'll have to teach her.
I also don't mind if there are quite a few dogs named River, or some of the others mentioned. I just don't want something common like Max, or Molly, for example. As far as naming a dog when they're already home goes, it doesn't seem any easier really for me. Of course, if none of the names I like suit her when she comes home, then we'll find something else but I've never had that problem before.
Sophie, I am starting to like Rumour more and more for the same reasons you mentioned. I wasn't big on it at first though.
All of that being said, my two favourite names that I listed are Epic and River - at the moment anyway.
Lol...By the way, I meant that he wants to name any female dog Sasha. I worded it wrong accidentally.

I would ask about Salsa maybe..it's similar to Sasha but would go with Tango and is unique.

I think Salsa is a great suggestion, I'll definitely mention it. It's certainly not something I'd probably hear often. Thanks!

LOL!! The Salsa and Tango idea is too funny! I really like it, actually. Out of Epic and River, I have to say I like River the best. It might be a little hard to holler at the dog park, but so is Giselle ;)

I think River is pretty :). I haven't really run into any dogs named River yet myself. I think it would fit a Toller nicely. Rumour is interesting too, though strikes me more as masculine for some reason.
