I was watching Inside Edition tonight and they did an undercover story about the Mexican border and puppy mills.
The Mexicans are breeding dogs like crazy and then peddling them on the streets of Mexico, just over the border!!  As they drove down this street known as "Puppy Highway" there were MANY Mexicans holding up puppies, some too young to be away from their mamas, trying to peddle them as people drove by. IE even went as far as going to a home that was loaded with puppies everywhere! In crates, Rubbermaid bins, small bird cages, you name it. The stench was overwhelming, according to the investigator. Most of the puppies, who were being sold for $150, had parvo and died within days of being purchased.
There is veterinarian who has made it her mission to stop these kinds of puppy mills, and preventing the dogs from being smuggled over the border.
The whole thing made me sick!
