I was just curious what your dogs will work for when you are training them.... or what motivates them the most.
Both dogs love to get cheese or hotdogs, but they stay happy and excited if I praise them too. T.j won't work for toys, but Zoey will if it's a brand new toy or some other dog’s toy.

Tango works for toys/play, and praise. She couldn't care less about food. She likes food (the only food she'll work for is boiled chicken), but she's more inclined to work harder if she knows there is going to be a toy at the end or lots of praise.
The others lives revolve around food and will work very well for both food and/or praise. Toys are alright to them. They're the complete opposite of Tango minus the praise aspect.

Simba - Treats and Praise
Nala - Treats and Praise
Kiara - Praise, Tennis Ball, or Flippy. She's happy with either of the three. Food is great but she'd much rather me love on her or throw a flippy/tennis ball.
Mufasa - At the moment, treats. I praise him more than I treat him though because I want him to realize he's doing commands for ME, not a treat.

Spanky couldn't care less about praise even though that's the only thing she gets. She is motivated by food and toys, though.

malakai is not big on treats.. praise does it for him.
For Chloe its both treats and toys.
what exites my3 the most is treats, which is why I prefer not to use them lol food is was EXITES them the most, in fact is exits them to such a high degree that they are completly incapable of focas, I use food for some things but not much.
for Happy its toys, she will do aboslutly anything for a game of fetch, but will just as happliy work for a simple "thank you"
for Misty its praise, but not too much or she starts getting to the same level of exitment food gets her too, mostly just "good girl" and a pat on the head and as far as she is concerned she just won the lottery lol
Electra is play, NOT with toys, but roughhousing with me is a great reward for her.
for my moms 3 its food, food and more food lol

Kai - Treats. He'll work for any treat but he gets most excited with cheese. I use cheese for agility training since he speeds up most when I use it.
Kaedyn - Treats and praise. He'd rather get the treat but he responds very well with praise alone too.
Kuri - Fetch, frisbee, tug, treat. He prefers the frisbee and tug over the fetch and treat but he'll work for any of them.

Marta works for food...though she does like play, too.
Both Adele and Vallis get too focused on the treat for food to work. Praise works better with those two.

Shadow, Micki, Mini and Jack NEED food. Heck, Jack won't even play fetch with a toy unless he's rewarded with food! They do work for praise though, they just aren't as willing to do anything and they're much slower.
Kyra will gladly do anything for a game of fetch.

Mine all do best with food. Praise is a close second though. Nacey is the only one who really gets motivated by toys.

Molli looks at me as if I have betrayed her if I don't give her a toy or treat. lol Sammy gets so happy and excited that his little wiggle butt can't stay still long enough for him to deserve the treat. I usually train them with toys.

praise and a few kinds of food. If he doesn't feel like it, nothing will work though

Treats, meat is preferable. She likes praise, too. ;)

Pretty much everything with Molly - but especially her rope toy.
Mickey is very food motivated. Or sometimes I'll set up my agility jump as a reward - it's like a happy-drug for him or something. LOL :D
