I have to share this...
I was emptying out my small cloth suitcase from a trip when my black kitty LUCKY jumped in. I closed the lid lightly (not zippered) to see if she would jump out or stay in.
The mama cat MANDY immediately jumped on top of it and laid across the top of the suitcase holding the lid down (like she is trying to keep the youngster in!) and within 2 seconds the baby cat LUCKY flew out. And such an expression! Like how dare you trap me in there? She looked hurt and miffed!
Please share some of your funny KITTY stories! And come by to see my "Cosmik-Kitty" ART site (Cat Art). Click on www.

When we got back from a vacation, Fister was also quite curious to check out where we'd been. We got these pics:

Great pics Randi. Too funny.http://www.plauder-smilies.de/lol2.gifI've been putting a bedspread over my couch to help protect it from my cats claws. I tuck if under the bottom of the couch. I kept noticing that it was untucked almost every day. Sunny was untucking it and crawling in behind the bedspread. One morning I was saying goodbye to all three cats and I couldn't find Sunny. He was underneath the bedspread with only his head sticking out. He looked so cute and funny at the same time. It made my morning. I wish I could have taken a picture of him. All three cats like to also crawl into a very small box and sleep in it. They hang out over the box but don't seem to mind. Maybe they still think that they're little kittens.http://www.smileydictionary.com/images/smileys_cat/cat.gif

When we first moved into our house about 3 years ago, Kedi thought there was a window above our bed at night. (It was only a reflection of light from the real window- it even fooled me a time or two)
Well, one night he sat on the bed and stared and stared at it for the longest time, then all-of-a-sudden LEPT as high as he could...................well of course there was no window there. He slid down the wall and back onto the bed with this look of total dismay on his face. Thank God he was not hurt at all (just his pride). :D
I laughed so hard that I woke my husband up!

My kittie,Micho, can't sleep anywhere other than my pillow right beside my head.So every night his night night kisses and to tell me he's in my room is to put his nose(very cold nose)on my eyelids and meow.It tickles.he does this every night, just to tell anyone who wants to harm me that he's there and they better watch out!!love the photos of kittie in suitcase.very cute!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Micho, that is so cute & sweet.
Welcome to PT BTW :)

When Juni seats on the window-sill with the window open (we live at the 6th floor) and she leans over the window too much, we say loud and insistently ptssssss, ptssss, until she changes her mind. And then, because the knows she did wrong, she comes to the person that ptssss her, chirping (she can't just accept it on our terms) and she kisses us, but, still chirping. And, when doing this, her wiskers shake and she is soo funny. But she still, goes there after kissing us. As Frostfrog said not so long ago, you can't command a cat.
BTW, very beautiful pictures with the suitcase. Esp, the first one.

Oh Randi -
I just wanted to thank you for your great pics which made my story even funnier! The suitcase is the exactly the same as the one my black kitty jumped into just before the mom cat sat on it...
Of course the kitties are not exactly the same!

I never go out enough to have a story like that, but Mitty gets an additude when we leave the house. I could be just out in the yard and she will meow and meow like,"Where are you going? Not without me you wont!Help MEEEEEEE..........." :o
This morning I brought one suitcase downstairs to put in a few t-shirts I want to take with me on our trip to France on the 10th ; this way I want wear them so they will not have to be washed last minute !!!!

Lut, I did not see the suitcase pic, but I looked at your webshots album. Sydney is a beautiful cat! Very graceful looking too.

I told the story a few months ago about how my Maine Coon girl sticks one paw out gracefully and brings it down slowly vertically when she wishes permission to come aboard my lap. I now know a way to describe this special behavior. She resembles the Seattle Mariner's baseball player, Ichiro, who does just about the same stance whenever he lines up at the bat. You Mariner's fans know what I mean and can now picture Gusty as she lines up before her lap jump.

treybabe, I know the Ichiro line-up you're talking about! I love it when Ichiro does that (and obviously it works for him :) )
That's adorable that your MC girl does that
Still having computer problems and can't get my e-mail to work too well, so have not been able to send you your pics.
I am going to scan them anyway and try and see if my comp. will let me post them in a PM to you here at Pet Talk, so be looking for them! :)
And oh BTW, we got a new kitten. Started out as a foster, but quickly became more  I'll post some pics later this weekend.
Take care and talk soon.

I came back after getting a happy birthday note thru E-mail thru CAT TALK!!! I will be HALF a century tomorrow Oct 14th and cannot get my "arms around that" at all. Oh my!

Birthdays are strange aren't they... the big 50 went seemlessly as I had gone thru the angst and embraced the denial of being OLD.... and just moved thru it and still feel as young as I look.... they say "35" in a friendly way! (men!)
I have not had success with my ART yet and know I am a lousy marketter... (spelling?) and need some money behind my ART and advertising in the real world as in magazines to get anywhere. I hope it's OK to have it in my SIG and share with like minded CAT LOVERS... ;)

My cat Indigo - the silent one - likes to explore and do acrobatics. I have seen her, more than once, hop from the top of a dresser to the top of an open closet door and balance there, on that narrow ledge, looking around for the next place to go. She is so funny riding the door back and forth as it wobbles under her weight. (She is a trim kitty, which is why she is able to get around so well - her plump sister Beauty would not have such luck, if she tried.)

My family's cat Mustard (who went his way many years ago) used to be so funny when we gave him catnip. He was ordinarily a very shy, mannerly cat; but when he had sniffed a little catnip, you had to be very, very careful about where you walked. If you walked through the living room, he was likely to be hiding under the coffee table, ready to snake along the ground and pounce. And when I say "snake," he really did look like a snake - running his chin along the ground and wriggling along, until he met his target. Very funny, but a bit scary if you were the "prey!"

My cat, Thomas, always INSISTS on being fed his can of wet food as soon as I wake up. If I don't feed him right away, he will get up on my lap, reach his paw up, and *smack* me. He doesn't do it hard-just kinda smacks me lol. He'll do it until I feed him.
Also, he seems to have a love/hate relationship with my boyfriend's feet. My bf has a foot odor problem, but my cat insists on always laying by his feet when he's home-even if they reek lol. And at the same time, if my bf and I fight, he'll go to lay by his feet, but then all of a sudden bite them and run to me! Like, *That's what u get for messing with my mama* LOL

I will be moving soon and will be living above a young couple with a baby.... I stay up late at night but am relatively quiet... keep the TV low ect.
BUT one of my two cats has an irritating and loud habit of meowing when she wants me to PLAY with her at night, or feed her, or change the litter box... In other words she is very vocal and can be heard OUTSIDE the apartment. She will meow sometimes when I step outside so I know!
I am worried that she will disturb my new neighbors. She is now about six years old and I wonder if there is anyway I can quiet her down BESIDES perhaps becoming her SLAVE and playing with her constantly to get her to NOT meow. Perhaps that is all I can do but I tend to NOT do that and get on this computer and ignore her... I have gotten used to the meows and it does not always register anymore. Am I a bad mommy???
Any ideas on quieting my MEOWER kitty?

My cat Tux's middle name is "inspector". His duties include:
1. Examining all the shopping bags to make sure we bought everything on our list (and his). ;)
2. Opening the cupboards in both the kitchen and bathroom to make sure everything is in order.
3. Opening my dresser drawers to see if that all my socks/underwear etc... are properly folded and/or match.
In addition to his regular duties, he is currently training his new recruit Pesca so that he can cut down on his workload. :P (Poor boy)
P.S. Randi that pic of Fister is hilarious! :D
Hi,
My cat, Vanille, is always in a hurry to get he food in the morning. So a few minutes before the clock alarm starts ringing, she comes and sits next to my head and then softly put a paw on one of my eyelids ! She repeats that untill I get up, also during the weekend because she doesn't make the difference. Sometimes I wake up at night because she sleeps on top of me ! Even when I move, she just crawls back on !
Regards,
Vera

One of my cats,Rollins will reach out and place his paw on my face and cock his head and just look up at me. I love it when he does that. He did it just a little while ago when he jumped up in my lap. Yikes gives me head-butts when he wants to say "I love ya,Dad." Yikes is also a "cooer". Ol' Satchmo though, not being a touchy-feely kinda guy will occasionally forget he's Mr. TuffStuff and give me head-butts but mostly he'll body slam alongside my leg when he wants something. Those cats of our's....they're somethin'. :) Rollins is ALWAYS the first one to come runnin' to greet me when I come home from work...Yikes second...hahaha,then I have to go find Satchmo to tell him "Hi". I gotta say this though, that Rollin's extended paw gesture is the nicest thing any cat has ever done to me. He looks up,extends paw on my face, and leaves it there..no claws. I want to get a new digital camera to share photos of my boyz with all of you;my Kodak EasyShare is fried.

Cats are soo amusing! My cat Lenox growls whenever someone rings our doorbell, or knocks. The first time he did it I wasn't sure I heard correctly, a guard kitty? I didn't think so  but now he growls almost everytime, and also if we have a guest he is unfamiliar with he will hide around the corner and growl at them it's pretty funny!

Our cat, Stewie, will answer us anytime we say his name and the word "What??". No matter where he is in the house, if he hears someone say "What?" we'll hear him meow in response. He'll also do it over and over and over again...
"Stewie, what??"
"Meow!"
"Good Kitty. What?"
"Meow!"
"What??"
"Meow!"
It's hysterical! He often has other conversations with us when he's in the mood to "talk", too. :p
