It is freezing here...what is going on its still November! I accidently left my car out on the driveway last night instead of pulling it into the garage...I had to pour water over the whole thing to get the ice off then the automatic sliding doors wouldn't open...I pulled it into the garage to try to thaw it out...took the kids to the bus stop in hubbies car....

Hopefully I didn't bust my auto doors trying to force them open...

We are suppose to run the pool pump all night when it freezes...I am afraid to go out and look at that

How do all of you in the colder states handle it???

This has been the strangest November in a long time! Earlier this month it was in the 90s for a week and now it's down in the 60s during the day and freezing at night. The rain has been strange too, the storms come through way faster than normal and pour for 5-10 minutes and then the sun comes back. Oh well, I heard from a friend in Canada that it was -30c, so I won't complain about +40f. :D

I'm surprised it is that cold down in southern california...I am in Northern california so we do get the freeze sometimes not very often though. Looks like I messed up my door in my car...wonder what happens to people who don't have a garage? I think it just needs a new fuse its happened before.

It's been pretty normal for us! The snow held off longer than usual!

During the day we never come close to freezing temps, but at night it gets cold enough to freeze over. The mountains north of us had a hard freeze last night and this morning, but we just had the light layer of ice last night. I'm inland enough tucked between mountains, so we get their nice cold drafts coming down.

I'm in Connecticut and we have been having very unusual weather over here too. In the day it's close to 65F and at night it has been dipping into the 20's. The only time I don't like the cold is when it's below zero...that's when I will actually put a coat on, otherwise I go without, I guess I like the cold and I think when your born and raised in the cooler weather you just get used to it, either that or we have thicker blood. ;) ;)

We keep a de icer spray then spray it around the door. We also never lock our cars at night. If the locks freeze, it is hard for even the spray to work. Another tip - do not put the emergency brake on unless you have to over night. They will freeze up too. When I had a standard, I would leave it in gear.

Now I understand better why we have abnormaly hot temperatures here! It's above 10 degrees everywhere in the country, my parents even have 20 degrees now! I have heard that snow is melting in the mountains and they could not open the ski pistes as they usually do around the end of November.
And last week Tuesday I had ice on my car in the evening

I am like that also...at least compared to other people here I do like the cold weather.

Colder states? What colder states? ;)

It was in the 60's over the weekend. Today it's in the 40's, tomorrow it will be in the 50's and on Thursday, back to the 60's. It's like Indian Summer here.

I bought snowshoes a month ago......and I haven't been able to use them. :(

Hehe....you could come here and drive a short drive to Lake Tahoe and use those snow shoes!

The weather in Northern Ohio (or maybe all of Ohio... not sure) has been warm and sunny for the past few days!
The hubby and I put up our outside Christmas lights this past weekend in T-Shirts!! It was 65!!!

We've been hip deep in snow this time of year in the past!!

I love the cold and the snow!
It's almost makes me sad to see Christmas lights with no snow on them!

haha sorry had to laugh at the image of you pouring water over your car.....I guess we have just learned all the tricks. Use de icer on the drivers side door, then reach in and start the car and turn the heat on full blast. Go back inside for about 5 to 10 minutes, depending on how bad the ice is (If it's just snow just use an ice scraper right then over the car). Go back out and use an ice scraper over the car, the heat from the inside will have helped it by then. Of course, I too prefer to just park in the garage, much easier ;)

hee hee...this thread makes me laugh too. I think we're lucky compared to most states in the winter and fall. We may get cold weather...especially in Northern California, but we don't have the snow, blizzards, ect. that many/most other states do.

I LIKE when we can get something other than just the sun. Its so nice to have cold days and nights. Its been rainy, windy, cloudy and wet here the past few days and I love it. Its like real holiday weather. Right now, according to WeatherBug, its 53.4 F.

It's been a lot warmer in Denmark too for this time of year, when I was on a bus going home from work, I noticed it was 9 degrees C. In the daytime it's even warmer. No gloves or hats yet. :)

Its suppose to be the coldest night of the year so far tonight...down to 31 degrees...that is really cold for here ....hopefully everyone brings their pets inside.

It took me all day to fix my car door, the sliding doors on my van got stuck well I looked this problem up (thank god for the internet) and someone suggested pulling out one of the fuses and waiting 30 seconds and putting it back in..that did the trick, apparantly the Odyssey's have this problem when it freezes. That saved me a costly trip to the dealer to have the sliding door computer reset.

Is your car in a garage? If not give yourself some extra time to de-ice...

cathy...I looked up campbell on weather.com...you are only suppose to get down to 35 degrees...those few degrees will make a lot of difference for you...you may not have ice.
