What a special angel you are Simon, i can tell by your familys words that you were very much loved and are dearly missed. Congratulations on being DOTD sweetheart, watch over your family on this special day.
To Simon's dear human mother, Your story was wonderful to read this morning. I particularly enjoyed the part about having Simon become an established member of the household before hubby returned home. You think very much like me as I could have easily been guilty of hatching the same plan. ;) I admit that by the end of Simon's story I was filling up. All of us who have loved and lost a dog can appreciate your sadness and I am so sorry for your loss. Even though Simon is not around to realize he has become famous as Dog of the Day, he was the recipient of your love and devotion for 14 years and that is even better. God bless.

What a wonderful tribute to your dearly departed pooch.
The post above [Pam's] verbalizes my thoughts completely while reading your heart warming tale of your precious pal. So, I have nothing else to add except thanks for sharing your lovely dog with us and congrat's on Simon being the Dog of the Day.

Simon Peter Reichert, today you walked into my heart too. I realize you had a long and very happy life, but I am crying for the loss of you and the loss of all loved pets. There are those here among us whose pain is fresh and some whose pain is part of their lives for a longer time. Simon Peter Reichert, I just want your Mommy to know I feel her pain today.
But today you are honored as Dog of the Day and in that honor I hope your Mom and the rest of your family will remember all the joy you brought to their lives, all the companionship you shared with them, and all the blessings and lessons learned from living life with the bestest ever Simon Peter Reichert

Simon, your guardian's moving tribute to your life was deeply touching and so beautifully written that I find it difficult to comment. Words are a powerful tool and the feelings conveyed in your biography attest to the immense love and devotion shared between you and your family. Heartfelt blessings to you and yours, dear departed Simon.

Oh Gosh, I have to stop crying before I can write... I so understand.
Simon what a lovely story your mommy wrote. How loved you are and how much love you gave. I know you are watching over your beautiful family. Your mommy is one smart cookie, I too have hatched plans like this. You will always be there in your family's hearts and minds. I am sure they have countless wonderful tails to tell about your life. Blessing all, Marigold2

Oh Simon, it's hard to type through the tears. What a touching, beautifully written tribute your wonderful Mommy has written and shared with us. You were truly a dream doggie Simon, a once in a lifetime doggie, a blessing sent from above, for only a benevolent, higher being could create a soul as beautiful, as pure of spirit as you. Sometimes a creature comes into our lives and we as people are forever changed, for the better. You dear Simon Peter Reichert were just such a doggie and what an everlasting legacy of love you have left behind. You wear your angel wings now sweetheart and your people no longer have you there by their sides, but forever your memory, your love and devoted friendship, all of your goodness, will live on in their hearts. God bless you dear, precious Simon Peter Reichert, DOG OF THE DAY, DOG OF A LIFETIME. Run and scamper happily at the Bridge sweetheart and wait patiently for that happy day when you and your family are reunited in love. And today, look down on them and comfort them sweet Simon, they miss you so.

I am so glad I was able to meet you. I am such a wuss ... when I read that you were deceased, I had to pause for a moment. I have never lost an animal friend, but learning that someone else has, hurts my heart so much. Your story and your life with your family is wonderful and beautiful. Special thanks to Pam, Rachel, Ava Joy, Marigold, and Tats. I can't always express myself as eloquently as I would like to. Luckily for me, I can echo the heartfelt words in your respective posts.

I read this earlier, but I just now got time to reply back to Simon's owner. He was so gorgeous on the outside, and sounded just as gorgeous on the inside from what you said.
I can tell from what you said that Simon really did have the best life that he could possibly have. I'm sorry that he's no longer with you guys, but remember that he'll be watching over you all until you reunite again at the Rainbow Bridge.
Take Care,
Genny

Dear family of Simon, I can see why Simon was so special to you, and I'm sorry for his loss. Just by the picture submitted...the look in his eyes says how gentle and sweet he was. I'm glad you were lucky enough to have had such a wonderful doggie in your lives. I'm sure Simon is watching over you all from doggie heaven and smiling. I'm sure he is very proud to have been selected DOTD, just as you surely are. It's great that you gave him such a warm and loving home. May peace and great memories comfort your hearts. :)
