Hey everybody! I was just wondering if some cat experts here could tell me which breed of cat(s) CC is [or guess]. I usually just call him a Domestic Long-Hair, but I am still not sure if that is correct. I'd be great if some took a guess at it.

Thanks,
Husky15

Thank you so much, for the compliment and the breed! I actually did think of a Maine Coon once I saw one on the Ellen show.

I'd have to agree that there is alot of Maine Coon in C.C. Looks alot like my Jack whom I've always thought to be a Maine Coon mix.

My, CC and Jack do look alike. My mom thinks a Domestic Long-Hair, but I am beginning to think he is a mix of both Domestic Long-Hair and Maine Coon.

Actually 'Domestic Long-Hair' isn't a breed, it's a catch-all term for any domestic cat of unknown breed with long hair.

American Shorthair (which is a breed) was originally known as the Domestic Shorthair, the breed was renamed "American Shorthair" in 1966 to better represent its "All American" character and to differentiate it from any other shorthaired breed.

'Domestic shorthair' now is a catch-all term for any domestic cat of unknown breed with short hair.

Not sure how large of a kitty he is, but could be part Turkish Angora as well. Angoras are lighter-boned that Coon Cats. He's a very handsome boy ;)

Thanks for the info! I had a feeling that the Domestic Long-Hair actually wasn't a breed, but thanks for confirming this.

Firstly, thanks for the compliment! It's much appreciated. And CC is about an average-sized cat, he is no bigger then our Siamese. And you could be right about the Turkish Angora, CC always has been skinny [or quite small] his whole life -- and he is quite the eater! His fur makes him look big, but when he gets out of the bath he is so tiny.

I really am thinking a Maine Coon mix, maybe he does have some Turkish Angora in him.

I'd like to say thanks to everyone again. CC's breeds have always been a mystery to us since we don't know the breeds of his parents.
