Tubby & Peanut's Mom

Finally here are the pictures of our trip to Tucson. As I mentioned before, Terry drove the motorhome and towed the Jeep, while I followed in the Oldsmobile with P & CJ. I put their carriers in the back seat with the litterbox on the floor of the front passenger seat. I reclined the passenger seat all the way so they could come and go from front to back as they pleased. Worked pretty well. For the most part Peanut stayed in her carrier except to go peepee, but she did come out several times. CJ on the other hand, was all over the car, meowing up a storm and finally settling down in the afternoon. So, here are some pictures, in no particular order since Imagestation doesn't like to keep them in the order I upload them.

Peanut was in my lap first, and CJ insisted on joining her.
He's my brother and he sure IS heavy!

I loved poor little Peanut's expression in this one.

And CJ's in this one.

They ended up switching around several times and once ended up butt to head.
Oh the humility of it all!

Aaaaahhh....finally a seat all to myself!

Look out for that truck!! Meowmy, I think you better put the camera down, put the walkie talkie down, put the Sirrius remote down and just drive, ok?

Another configuration was Peanut on top of CJ!

Stop, Meowmy, I have to go potty!!!

If he's going to be such a lap hog, I guess I'll just have to hang out in HIS carrier! (CJ didn't want to be in his carrier, but he got extremely upset when Peanut was in it, even crawling into it once while she was still in it!)

From my point of view.

When we got there, CJ crawled under the covers as usual and Peanut jumped up and purposely laid right next to him!

I'm just getting comfy here, so don't even THINK about moving this thing again!

What lovely pictures! Looks like CJ, Peanut and meowmie had quite an adventure. I can not believe they laid all over each other like that. I take it Peanut loves her brother? Or is it more like tolerate him while meowmie is around? :p

Edited to add: I just wanna SMOOTCH this face ;)

Great photos, and thank you for providing the link to the full album!

I am confused, though. Your log on says you live in Chicago, your first album photo says you live in the Dakotas, and the photos are from Tuscon? Do you know where you are or does it depend which day it is? Don't tell me you took 2 cats on a vacation trip to Tuscon?! O MY GOSH!

I agree, put down the camera, walkie talkie and Sirrius and get serious about driving! I don't know how you managed to take so many pictures of them in the car!

Oh - WOW!!!! :D

The Trip West in-car photos are pretty neat ...
But the Scenic Views in the Album are just FAN-TAB-U-LUSS!!! :)

Prolly going to be hard to *drag* you guys back east, huh?

You Guys and Miz Glacier can trade Scenic Shots and vie for the Picture of the Day honors.

Welcome to the "Promised Land"!

I got to tell you, that one of CJ at the window looking out with his mouth open and your caption made me totally bust out laughing. That was GOOD!
Peanut looks not at all impressed with traveling in a car, CJ looks like a old hand at it and it is just to sweet that they both wanted in Mommies lap. Those are some great photo's. I agree with CJ, keep you eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel...

Is that NM or AZ, Debbie? (Or did you guys even travel through NM?)

LOVE the pictures you shared here! CJ and Peanut look like (fairly) happy travelers. :) You know, you ought to see if there's a "most traveled cat(s)" section in that world-records book. I'll bet CJ & Peanut would rank right up there! lol

Oh Wow! These great pics are making my day! My kitties are good travellers, but yours...Wow again! :D It is a pleasure to see such beautiful babies on your lap while you are driving. And you've made your car very comfortable! It's a traveling palace! Only crazy cat people can do this

I am always afraid that my cats go on my feet when I drive, so if I am alone, they stay in the carrier. Otherwise Peppito loves going outside his carrier and when we don't open, he shouts very loudly to remind us he is here :) !

Great pictures...I felt like I was right there with you.

I do have to ask....where are you living now....Arizona or South Dakota??? I'm confused

I took pictures last year of our move from the old house to mymom's house and then into the new house and my digital camera acted up and I ended up with only 2 picture of the entire move...I was so bummed.

Filou and Tigris looked at Peanut and CJ AND at the Es and now they want to be American kitties and travel.
I'll tell them next time on their trip to the vet.
I think CJ and Eddie have the same character :D

And I have one question: who took the pics while driving ?

They Certainly Are Well Behaved Cats.
I Dont Think That The Found Cats Would Tarvel Nearly That Well.
They Would Be All Right Until They Got Near A Dennys, Then It Would Be
Grand Slam , Please.
Thank You For Sharing Your Trip.

Thanks everybody. I'd have to say it was interesting and an [/i]experience[/i].....not necessarily fun. ;) I will admit that I'm glad we're here and I don't have to pack and unpack two kitties every day.

Ok, to the questions.....
I am confused, though. Your log on says you live in Chicago,
Sorry, I haven't updated my log on - oops.

your first album photo says you live in the Dakotas, and the photos are from Tuscon?
We became residents of South Dakota (mailing address, driver's license, voter registration, etc.) because the only home we have these days is the motorhome. We choose South Dakota because they have no state income tax and things like license plates, insurance, etc is cheaper than in other states. Why pay high Illinois or Arizona taxes/fees if we don't have to?

Do you know where you are or does it depend which day it is?
Some days it does depend on which day it is. :D

Don't tell me you took 2 cats on a vacation trip to Tuscon?!
Technically no since we will be here for several months, but in reality, yes, since we're always on vacation these days. :D

Prolly going to be hard to *drag* you guys back east, huh?
I don't know.....come summertime here and the temps climb over 100 degrees....we'll be back in the East in a big hurry! ;)

Is that NM or AZ, Debbie? (Or did you guys even travel through NM?)
That is NM. I remember he was up and about and complaining quite a bit, so I pretended he was like a kid and I was telling him "Whaddya think, CJ, this is New Mexico. That over there, that's a cactus. You don't want to mess with a cactus. What are those over there you ask? Well, that's a mesa. The wagon trainers used those as landmarks as they were coming through here." This running conversation didn't slow CJ's complaining down any, but it entertained me for a few miles. ;) I believe it was I-40 that we were on at the time.

What memories you bring back for me...of our drive from Chicago to SoCal!
I thought of you guys constantly while we were driving, and imagining how much easier this would have all been had Terry towed the Olds and I got to drive the Jeep and just had the snots in the back like you had the E's.

who took the pics while driving ?
Me! :D Most of the trip was on very low traffic highways which made it easier, but you guys are only seeing the pics that turned out. I didn't upload the many, many, many that were maybe...say....CJ's eyeball and not his whole face, or were blurry because we hit a bump right when I snapped the picture. I have to admit, the trip would have been waaaaayyyy longer if I didn't have the two snots to keep me entertained.....especially when CJ crawled into the carrier with Peanut already in it, right directly behind me, in heavy traffic, with hissing and spitting going on like mad! It was really quite the adventure for all of us.

And have you been to San Xavier du Bac?....
Not yet, but it is on my list of places I definitely want to see before we head to Quartzsite.

Thanks again, everybody. This whole thing is quite the adventure and I'm glad I can share it with you all. :D
