DJFyrewolf36s precious little bottle baby has joined many others at the RB.

Bitz was rescued 4-5 weeks ago as a newborn. The vet said she wasn't developing right but it was something she may have outgrown. They also figured that she was premature, as well.

She passed some time in the night and did not suffer.

R.I.P. Dear sweet Bitz, your mama is crushed without you. Please come back and visit often!

I am so sorry DJFyrewolf..it has been said here so much - but it is no less true here. She was warm and LOVED and fed. And passed peacefully, and happy in your care.

Sigh...

I'm still in a state of shock. I know really that there wasn't too much I could do except keep her warm and safe for her short life. The vet visits didn't cost me anything though (there is a very nice kitty clinic here). It still stings though :(. Its hard because I spent so much time with the little one making sure she was ok.

We can't all be superheros though.

It is so hard to lose an old friend, but it is hard to lose a little baby like Bitz. We lost our baby Sylvia Purrogoli at 6 weeks to distemper(she was adopted 2 days earlier)in 2003. No matter how long the kitty lives with you, it is still heartbreaking to lose them. But you did you very best to help baby Bitz, you gave her love and comfort. Sleep softly, sweet Bitz....

Little Bitz was a fortunate kitten, in that in her short time here on earth, she knew love - overwhelming affection, tender care, and love. That is more than some kitty who live a very long time ever know.

And though you are right, we cannot all be superheros, you are one, because you put your heart on the line for this wee small kitty, come what may. And for that you are blessed.
