We succeeded and got mom and both kittens. The little calico - Garbo is gorgeous and Gable has the most interesting markings. They both seem to have an URI (not unexpected) but mom looks really healthy. I'm thinking she was a dump and not a feral. We will do our best to find homes for all 3. They're off to the vet in the morning along with Chowder who is getting neutered.

Gable has the most michievous eyes! Garbo is soft and sweet...and that face on the mom cat. What a beautiful girl! The shape of the line of her upper eyelid. BEAUTIFUL!

I hope you find wonderful homes for them!

It was the weirdest thing tonight. We had noticed her weeks ago and she would hide out in the field in some tall greenery. Then we didn't see her for weeks (probably delivering) and thought maybe she was a neighborhood cat that just came over for visits. Then she showed up again and lo and behold with 2 babies. Whenever she would see our car lights she would run under the ticket booth (first photo with Gable) and not come out till we left.

Tonight she came right up to me and let me touch her. It was UNBELIEVEABLE. I had caught both babies with my hands and put them in the carrier. Put the trap up to it and set it. Mom walked in there but not far enough to trip it, so I walked over and pushed the trap door down!

We've been in the bathroom with all 3 and she is the most loving cat. She's letting us handle the babies and lays next to us. Why do people do this to the innocent cats?

I'll update all after the vets visit tomorrow.

Oh how sad that she is such a friendly cat and someone just dumped her. GRRR!

They are gorgeous and very lucky to be in your care now.

What a lovely family! Mama is such a beauty--if I didn't have a houseful, I'd want to scoop up all three. :D

Lisa, I'm so glad to hear that you were able to trap all 3 of them and that they aren't feral and are adoptable.:)I'll never understand why people dump cats and kittens like this either.:(
The kittens sure are cutie pies and the mother is gorgeous so I'm sure that they won't have any problems finding wonderful new homes.:) I'm at my limit with limited space and finances so I won't be able to adopt from you this time. It would be wonderful if another PT'er could adopt them though. Good luck at the vets tomorrow and please continue to keep us updated about them.:)

Oh, they are all amazing! such beauties. I cannot imagine anyone dumping that momma and her babies (or just the momma).

The more I hear about people, the more I like my cats.

So glad to see the three of them. I wonder how many kittens she had originally? You will never know.

I know that some cats run away. I have had two leave the house (not in the past 20 years) and never return. Thus I keep them inside with limited outside time.

My biggest peeve is that these cats never get spayed or neutered. That to me is much worse than letting the cat outside. Some cats survive the outdoors nicely.

People should be strung up for not spaying and neutering their pets. No wonder the shelters often do the operations when the pets are so young.

I just don't get it.

(((((((((((((((((K&L)))))))))))))))))))))

All of you folks who do the rescues are so appreciated.

We wondered that also! Yes, it's a crime when they don't spay or neuter and just let roam. I do believe she was dumped cause it was like she was begging for us to help her. They're all so precious and I pray we can find them some good homes!

Such beauties, and to think what someone did! However, I do think Gable looks more like a Marx Brother!!!

Congratulations! Great job Lisa! :) The mom looks so much like Fister's mom, except for the longer hair. The babies are just too cute! :p Do you have any idea how old they are? In Denmark is it recommended that kittens stay with their mom until at least 12 weeks old - I think it's because their immune system will be stronger, and also to learn a few tricks from their mom. Will you try to get them adopted together?

Good luck on the vet vist! :)

I love Momma's face design! No wonder she got such beautiful babies!

I can't understand as well why people aren't spaying and neutering. A not neutered tom will walk miles, neutered, he will stay much closer to home.

I hope that these three will have loving homes.

We were cuddling with Tigris these days and Siegmar said: You are a lucky cat. Not all cats are as spoiled as you. And I added: Every Pet talk cat is :D

She knew her babies were sick and she probably was begging you to help them. She just needed a human that cared to come along.

The Mama is beautiful, how could anyone throw away something so beautiful?

Both those babies are just adoreable but Garbo is simply stunningly gorgeous!... If only I could have more..... :(

Thank you so much for saving those babies and their Mom...

Gable and Garbo made only one movie together: Susan Lenox: Her Fall and Rise (1931) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0022453/).

What cuties! But I have a tiny place, and am at my limit with two. :(

The vet just called and they all checked out good for their health. The 2 kittens may already be adopted from someone at the vets (we love these guys). They're holding of spaying mom until a later date when the kittens are weaned. The babies were too young for their vaccinations, so they must be pretty young.

The other GOOD NEWS...Chowder made it through his neuter just fine! I can bring them all home this afternoon.

Thanks EVERYONE!

She Certainly Made A Wish Choice In Someone To Be Her Guardian Angel.

I knew someone would snatch up those two babies fast! Garbo is going to make a STUNNING adult so see if they will furnish us with adult pictures of her when she is grown... and to push my luck.... a picture of her as she grows...

WHOever gets the Mom is going to get a real jewel too.. She is so beautiful! Her name should be just that "Jewel"!

Gabe, what can I say? He is going to be one find adult boy! I have a feeling he is going to be a very entertaining cat like Giz... I don't know why, I just associate the word "FUN" with him... I love his markings.

As you see, I can not stay away from this thread......

My oh my.... all three of these kitties are just adorable! Their markings, and the looks in their eyes! Oh, so precious. I am glad that the little ones may already be adopted, and I am certain that mama will be in no time. Sounds like she is a true love bug! Do you know how old she is, approximately?

We have no idea how old, but I'll ask the vet when I pick them up this afternoon. I'm thinking she's fairly young.

Why do people do this to the innocent cats?

Because they want to clear their own consciences and sleep at night, all the while people like Lisa, Kevin, Me, Jenluck and all the other rescuers on this site are busy picking up what they consider disposable pets. Makes me sick!!

Lisa,

I'm glad it turned out well. If I lived closer, I'd definitely take Mama. May the stupid, irresponsible former owner of that beautiful girl rot in hell for abandoning her!

Donna I wish you could take her. She is not only beautiful, but so nice! I just brought them home and they're all doing so well. Mom will be spayed next Thursday. She's beginning to dry up and weaning the babies so we'll wait.

Both babies are spoken for so now we just need a home for precious mom.

Chowder is doing well, but still a bit groggy. Now off to where I work to trap!

P.S. They all tested negative!!! :D

Thanks for the wonderful updates Lisa.:) I'm so glad to hear that they're all healthy and that the 2 kittens have already found their new forever homes.:) Will they be adopted together or are they going to two different homes? I hope that their mother will also find her new home soon or you might just end up with another new cat.LOL:) I'm also glad to hear that Chowder's neuter surgery went well and that he's now home.:)

I also Pray momma kitty will find a loving furrever home where the owners wont dump her like trash. She is beautiful, and deserves the best. Thank you for saving them!
