Last week I was out on my scooter with my Cokette. She had on her thick red sweater and I thought it was ok but the wind and light rain started and I saw Cokette starting to tremble so I tucked her inside my thick winter coat
while we drove home. That's when I got the idea to make her a winter coat that is warm and waterproof. She has a wide collar that pulls over her head a bit like a hood to partly cover her head. She was taking a nap so I had to wake her to try it on. She still looks sleepy but she was wagging her tail so I guess she gave her approval. Now all she needs are boots. It reminded me of when I was a young girl and loved making clothes for my doll.

That is one smart dog coat!!!!!

Did you make the pattern yourself, or, did you buy this pattern?

I just can't get over how ingenious you are at making things for Cokette!!!

Well done!!!!!!!

I just remembered to resort to your profile page and read the thread you posted about Cokette's outfits.

You do such fine work when making things for your doggie!!!! ;)

Yes, thank you, I made the pattern myself. Cokette was so sweet and patient with me as I took pieces of cloth and sort of molded and checked to see how to best cover her without making her awkward or uncomfortable. I sort of carved it on her. I'm an artist sculptor by trade so that helped a lot.
It was over a period of trial and error and finally I like it.
Cokette recognizes it already. What I like with this coat is that there are no strings, no velcro, no zippers, no nothing and she slips very easily into it. Now my little Cokette will be nice and toasty for winter. Here's a view of the underbelly and a side view.

I am so darned impressed! That is really the coolest thing I ever saw! You made your baby a coat and it looks like something you went out and bought! GREAT JOB! (and I mean that!)

Looks very toasty. ;)

I was thinking about making Jen a winter coat. Does anyone know weather This pattern works. Or does anyone know any other good ones?

That or I was thinking or getting one of these for her. But it doesn't seem like much for $15.00
