Moosmom posted that today was court day for them to see if Alex would come home with them - for good!

They have had some very hard times - a death in the family, and this ongoing stress...

May justice and truth prevail!

HUGS to you guys! :)

Kym and I were IMing each other the other night. Jasper has been hogging the phone to, of all things, WORK!!! The nerve of him!! :p

She said that the court date was pushed up to the end of October, and she's pretty confident that they will get full custody of Alex.

She still needs our prayers though. She's having a biopsy done (can't remember where) sometime soon. I'll keep you posted.

I talked to Kym last week. She said that the lawyer they hired in Alex's case has backed out because he wanted more money (figures) after they gave him over $10,000. Jas has requested that they hand over their file to him so he can see exactly what the lawyer did SO FAR for the 10 grand. She said that they just don't have anymore money to fork out.

As far as Kym's biopsy is concerned, when I last spoke with her, she hadn't heard anything and was afraid to find out the results.

I'll try and call her this weekend. Those poor people have been through HE double hockey sticks in a hand basket.

 $10 grand??? sounds like a lot of dough, but another woman I know spent close to $200,000 and STILL couldn't get custody of her kids from her ex.
Will keep praying for them and Alex. I hope Kym gets good news re: the biopsy. All that stress can't be good for her either.

Can the judge make a judgement without a lawyer being there? Would he?

What a stupid shame! He sounded like a great guy too - why not just bill them AFTER the case is over and make payment arrangements???

Shoot... and I hope her test is negative, or at least TREATABLE!

I know this lawyer - Gary? - has done a lot. But couldn't he wait just a bit longer? The case is almost over...isn't it???

HUGS to Kym and Jas!!!

Maybe because, like the rest of the world, he has bills to pay, mouths to feed, etc.

Rule number 1- get your fee upfront.
Rule number 2- see rule number 1.

Most of us cannot afford to work for free. It sounds harsh, but, it is true.

I don't think he should work for free either...I think he did get the one fee up front, but I don't know that for a fact.

I hope payment arrangements could be made that will be good for both sides.
