well I remeber getting Doodles and his brother Scribbles when they were 4 months old and I was just starting grade 9. Doodles was the friendliest Gerbil ever, I remeber when he and his brother both got out one day and it took hours to catch scribbles, but Doodles was easy, I just knelt down and put my hands on the floor and Doodles came running right into my lap.for those who know Gerbils, well that just doesnt happen normally lol they may run up to you in their cage but if they get loose, I bid you good luck! Doodles was a very special boy, his friendlyness was unheard of in gerbils, and probably for good reason, I doubt he was have done so well in the wild! Doodles got grumpy with his old age, hey if you were loosing you sight you would be as well! Doodles led a great and long life, the average lifespan of a gerbil is typacly 3 years, and usually 5 years is absolute max. Doodles was SIX years old, when he finally passed away last night. Doodles survived so much, even having been mauled by one of my dogs a few years ago. Doodles was a special Gerbil and he certainly lived his life to the fullest.
RIP Doodles
