As some of you are aware I got "Hermes" from the cat rescue I was doing about a month ago and he went to the vets and he had an URI so the vet treated him with amoxy and then with another antibiotic that starts with a "c". Well he improved with not sneezing up green and yellow snot, but he is still sneezing not a lot but enough during a day that kittens usually don't do this or do they? All my other cats only sneeze when they are sick but not when they seem healthy.
Any suggestions? He is scheduled to be fixed on Nov. 6th but I don't want him getting fixed if he's still sick.

Is he still taking the anitbiotics, or did that course of meds finish? You are right, he should be over the sneezing to be considered "healthy." Follow up phone call to the vet. They may even prescribe a course of meds without another office visit, save you some money.

We Hope And Pray That Its Nothing Serious And Hermes Will Be All Right.

Unfortunately, the antibiotics only fight off secondary infections. The virus that actually causes the URI has to runs its course. He may sneeze off an on for months, and then he may have recurring bouts the rest of his life. Each time should be less severe though!

Where'd you get that information?? We've certainly had our share of URI's come in our hospital, and unless they are getting re-infected or they have other health issues (ie. leukemia, FIV etc) it's rare that more than two rounds maximum of antibiotics are required, and the vast majority of them may never have problems again.

Freedom, He has been off meds off for a while...maybe I'll just consider calling the vets just because in three weeks he'll be going in for his neutering.

Yes I would like to know where you got this information as well.
I hope he doesn't get it again it was hard enough and is still trying to get him to stop sneezing. Although he seems to get better I just want to keep him healthy before he gets fixed.
