Questions about two kittens not getting along??

Thank everyone for the advice!! My kittens were doing okay for a few hours yesterday but then my oldest kitten (5 mnths) got agressive. She didnt actually puncture the kitten (3 mnths) but bit him hard enough to make him screech. I thought things were getting better but now i am not so sure.Any help would be welcome!!!!! :(

How long have the 2 been together?
Can you leave one in a playpen (cage) and the other loose, and able to inspect? Then switch them.
The rough stuff is not really bad, unless one is hurting the other.
Does the one who screeched ever go on the offensive, or are they always defensive and not interested in wrestling?

I like to see them evenly matched, even if not in size or age.

I had a 2 mo old that terrorized two 4 mo olds.

I hav had them for about a week. At first my oldest hated the kitten completely. Then about the fourth day they were doing okay for about an hour. Then the oldest bit the little one. The little one didnt back down from my older one at all so i guess he was okay. Should I do anything to my older one for being so rough or just let them sort it out??

Just say, very loudly, "{her name} NO!" (All commands should start with the pet's name.) If the water bottle is handy, squirt her to get the point across.

The young one is doing what is natural: hollering as loud as he can so "mom" will come to the rescue. See? It worked, you were RIGHT there, weren't you!

It May Just Be The Natural Kitten Agression Getting A Bit Out Of Hand.
As Long As Noone Is Really Getting Hurt Then I Wouldnt Bother.
The Little Kitten Will Let The Bigger Kitten Know When Hes Getting Out Of Hand.

Some kittens play rougher than others.....and some kittens scream LOUDER than others. :rolleyes: But the screams from the younger one are telling the older one "HEY, not so rough!". I personally would let them work it out on their own (with supervision). You may want to seperate them while you are not home, just to be safe.

Also, the 5 month old should be neutered or getting neutered VERY soon. S/he could be starting to mature sexually and that could be a part of the roughness.
