I know that chocolate and onions are not safe for dogs to eat but is their anything else that a dog really shouldn't eat? My husky,Thor, Loves Bananas, grapes, apples and oranges. He usually sneaks the apples and oranges out of the pantry because he has learned how to open the door. He will eat peel and all. I was just wondering if this is ok? He also shares food with my 2 year old daughter Skyler. Is there any other food that he really shouldn't have?

Grapes are bad for dogs, I would not continue feeding him grapes.
I've never heard anything bad about bananas, apples, or oranges. My husky likes fruit as well and I give him pieces of those from time to time.

As Amy mentioned, grapes are bad, as are raisins, chocolate & onions like you stated. All the others won't hurt him. But dogs are mostly carnivores so I wouldn't really make it a common occurance.

Here is a website that lists out ten things that you should never give your pet.

I've also read that, if you give your dog fruit you should give it either a couple of hours before or after a meal, as giving the dog fruit at the same time as their meal can cause digestive problems or upset stomach. I can't remember where I read that so don't know how valid that information is. My dogs love apples, bananas, oranges, cherries (with the pit removed) and strawberries. I've given them these things around mealtime on a couple of occasions and never noticed any digestive or stomach problems, though.
