Well things are progressing along well with Oliver. I have finally been able to touch him!!!! :) :) but only when he is eating and still he is not so sure about what is happening.

When I put my hand down for him to sniff he still hits at it and scratches me but he is learning that I will not hit him like I think he expects to happen.

Most people know that I use a "whisperer" to talk to my cats, so I decided to talk with Oliver. He told me that he does not care to come inside as the big black cat with the white chest scares the heck out of him because he looks so BIG!!!! Well that would be Vegas...all 22 lbs of him. Oliver also said that he was an inside cat before but has peeing issues and would be afraid that I too would throw him out, so he prefers to stay in the cat bed and dog house that I have put out on the porch for him.

Here are some of the latest pictures of Oliver.

Thinking about the birds in my gardens.

Thanks for letting me share my update and pictures.

Oliver is such a handsome boy! I'm so glad to hear that you are making progress with him!!! Gradually I am betting that you will earn his trust, and you will be able to pet him for *real*! ;) Thanks for the update and the lovely pictures!

It sounds like good progress, and he seems to enjoy being by your house. :) I think eventually he'll come around and you'll be able to stroke him, but it may take some time - so patience! ;)

I think cats like it when you talk to them, I know Fister does.

That's great that you are able to help him out and keeping him dry when he needs to be.

Thanks for helping Oliver. I'm sure he'll come around even more for you.

The sad thing is that Oliver has probably not been treated well by people, and you will have to win Olivers trust.
Slowly but surely you will win his trust.

That does sound like good progress and he looks rather content in the pictures.

Another lucky kitty to have found you Meg!
