Hey all..
The mayor of my city has decided to take the best dog park in the city away from us.
People from all over the city come to this park, not just in the surrounding area. I know people who come in from OUT of the city to use it.
I am so heartbroken that they want to take this away from us! Please do me a favor, and email my mayor for me! Doesn't have to be long, just email them saying how important dog parks are!
The dog park is called Maple Grove dog park.
You can email the mayor here (http://www.winnipeg.ca/interhom/mayors_office/). On the right side of the screen, click under the heading "Email". Another man to contact as WELL is Gord Steeves (http://www.gordsteeves.com/contact.htm). You can even just take my email and alter it so it's not the same! Just make sure you pretend your are from Winnipeg.
Please... I'll make signatures for everyone who sends an email!!!

Maple Grove Dog Park.
You cannot take this great place away from us! And especially the dogs. I know so many people throughout the CITY (not just Maple Grove area) who use this dog park and call it the best in the city.
I have two Border Collies, who are very active dogs. Living in the city, it's tought to find a place to let them run free as they should be and burn all of their energy so that THEY are content. Not only do they need physical excersise, but they need mental excersise as well to keep themselves busy. All the smells and other dogs, and room at the dog park fulfill all of their needs!
After a long, fun few hours at the dog park, they come home and rest easy.
Going to the dog park has been a family event for me. Once we got our second dog, our whole family started going to the dog park together, 3 times a week and on Saturday and Sunday. It helps with OUR physical activity as well.
It makes us so happy to see our dogs running free! They love it!
We are in St. Vital and have nowhere else close enough to take our dogs to run free, without breaking the law.
It would be very much appreciated by my family and I, and people throughout the city, if you would let us keep our dog park as it is.
It would be very disappointing and heartbreaking to see any of it taken away.
