Our home is often our safe haven but the living conditions man's best friend had to reside in was just barbaric. Last night the Rock County Humane Society took 44 Siberian Huskies out of one home. The dogs were all found at this home on Afton Road in Janesville. Michelle and Jerry Tally were arrested for failure to provide food, water and shelter. Additional charges are pending. Humane Investigator Jim Hurley gives the condition of the dogs. Hurley says, “They're matted with feces and urine. They're discolored and they have upper respiratory problems. They had some chemical burns from being in that environment. So it's just a very sad situation."
The dogs are filled with parasites. The Rock County Humane Society spent the day cleaning and vaccinating all 44 dogs. But the problem is there's really no more room at the inn. The Humane Society is well past capacity so foster homes are needed. The shelter also needs groomers and or dog bathers, deodorizing dog shampoo, chew resistant leashes at least 6ft long, people willing and able to foster one of two dogs and volunteers to transport dogs.
The huskies will be ready to adopt in one week.
Contact the shelter at 608-752-5622 if you can help.

I can't watch the video, but I can just imagine what those poor babies look like :( .
If I lived closer, I would certainly volunteer to help out at the shelter.

That is so sad. Seems like huskies are one of the breeds that often end up being dumped in large numbers in Canada. :(

This is in Illinois.
How awful, that just makes me ill. How can anyone treat such beautiful wonderful dogs like that? :( I've seen some huskies with lots of undercoat that needed to be brushed but nothing like that one they zoomed in on. I wish I could foster or adopt one but my parents would never let me.

This is in Illinois.DUH! THANKS, AMY. This makes me all the sadder, as Star is from Illinois (but from a guy who took very good care of his puppies) I noticed that there are tons of huskies out there.
I can't open the clip, but I get the picture from what yo all have said. :(

  Man this just happened in South Dakota with 40 Collies and numerous horses by the same woman who just got busted 3 yrs ago for over 100 Collies. It sickens me that this happens and NOW deep down the AKC is going to support this with thier new contract idea with Petland. Lord help these dogs!!!!

The Collie Rescue here in Kelowna rescued dozens of those collies --- we groomed a few of them for their foster homes -- beautiful dogs, so sad.
BTW -- AKC didn't go through with the Petland deal. :)

We just had a situation like this in Quebec Canada a short while ago. POS had moved from the property and left the dogs caged. By the time a "friend" came to investigate several had already died. WTH is wrong with people. We spend so much time worrying about genetic defects in animals. Maybe the wrong animal is under scrutiny. Seems to me we need to have a breeding ban on some of the humans in the gene pool.
Trez, keep up the good work, you rock girl.

Oh those poor huskies! I feel so sorry for them :( How could people do such a thing to such innocent and loving animals :( ? I wish I could adopt but huskies don't fit my life style and I can't have another dog at the moment anyway :(
