Your's is finished and was mailed out on Mon. Dec. 4th. They said it will probably take about 1 week to get there.:) Sorry, no fur this year but a cute Christmas picture instead.:)

I mailed out a second batch yesterday and I'm mailing out a third batch today. I still have a few more to do tonight so the rest should be mailed out on Friday. Then I'll be finished.:)

Hi, all - I've been busy and off-line lately so I didn't get to tell you all (yet) how much I have been enjoying all my cards! I'll post and pm this weekend. Dadcat just got back from two and a half months in snow country (Utah - Hi, Amy ;) ) and finally got to meet Spencer in person - um, purrson? (Dadcat is the one who named him). It's like they've been buddies forever! They are having a great time discussing politics and NASCAR, and playing 'til its time for both of them to nap -he he. So, now that home is back to normal, I'll get on this weekend, read all I've been missing, and check out all the COTD's, DOTD's and POTD's I've missed lately!

I received pnance's beautiful Christmas picture card today.:) Yes, today and it's Sunday. Thanks Tricia. It must have been delivered to the wrong unit# and the person must have left it outside by my door. My roommate must have brought it in because I found it on the kitchen counter and it wasn't with my mail yesterday. It was postmarked Dec.16th and this came from Southern CA. I'm just lucky to have received it.:)

My brother and SIL mailed me their card with a postmark date of Dec.5 and I just received it yesterday.:eek: It was mailed from Texas and it was also delivered to the wrong address because someone had circled my address and wrote wrong p.o. box. I was lucky to get this one too.:)

Now the apology. I have at the moment a stack of cards sitting on my dining room table. They are all addressed but I have not written anything in them yet. I received a card from Isabel before Christmas. Love that blue-eyed doggie! I just took another look at the stamps - one is "el chapulin colorado" from a Mexican TV show. Gotta wonder what that one's about LOL.

I so much enjoyed participating in the card swap. I received so many beautiful cards, notes, and photos from all over the world. This was truly one of the brightest lights of my holiday. Thank you everyone!

I was disappointed to hear that several members were concerned about me participating in the gift swap. I guess I can't blame you, though. :(

yes you told me, and I suggested a virtual card which you could post here, because of the $$ issue and you said it was ok, but I haven´t seen that either........if you didn´t had the money you were not expected to send but at least have the detail to do as I suggested, as in a Thank you way.........

I think the concern mayorly is because if in the gift swap, whatever problem arises and you back down, your recipient will get nothing (not that we´ll let that happen) and in the card swap even you sent none we still got cards from several others.........IMO

I don´t think anyone wants a reimbursement, I think it was money well spent, at least for me, I loved giving/sending cards, and if I don´t get the rest I won´t go asking for reinburments to the ones who got mine........

sorry if I sound rude, I´m not trying to at all.........just to leave everything clear

maybe you should save a bit for when the swap begins and a little extra for shipping as it may be you get a foreign or overseas swap.......and be sure to follow through.........JMO

We can certainly understand. It was tough getting mine out, as I spent nearly $900 on Mufasa (my new puppy) alone just last month. And then I also spent an additional $200 or so on flea medications and treatments because he came infested with fleas and gave them to my other three dogs and our house. I HOPE *knock on wood* we have it under control now.

Thankfully, I was still able to get them out, even if they were a few days late. :D But it's always fun to extend Christmas and I don't think it's right not to follow through with something like this.

I received Isabel's last week and it was so cool. It's crazy how wierd the mail service works. It was also neat to see the Mexican stamp.

My mom rolled her eyes and said "You're STILL receiving cards?!?"
So, when your's comes I'm sure she'll be especially jealous. :p Thank you for still sending them, and don't worry about them being late - as long as we get them! :D

It is so interesting............I was thrilled with each card that I received.

But, I didn't go back and check the list to be sure that EVERYONE sent me a card. I just assumed that if I didn't get a card that there was a good reason behind it. Things happen in life and sometimes you cannot keep a promise and are embarrassed to say so.

This has happened before with the Christmas card swap - some people just couldn't get the cards out. But it never spoiled the wonderful cards that I did receive or the season and spirit of our exchange.

The gift exchange is different - if one person is counting on receiving a gift -
then that is important and you shouldn't sign up unless you are positive that you can afford to do it and that you want to do it.

But NOTHING should spoil our beautiful card exchange that took place in Corinna's name. She wouldn't want us fighting over it - for sure!

Decemeber I was not feeling well,was on the couch for 3 days,in the weeks prior i lost nearly 35 pounds,i was being treated for pneumonia,I was soo sick for 2 days before i was taken to the hospital,I had no energy every time i stood up i would fall down,I was taken to emergency i thought i was having a heartattach,I was having trouble breathing,Long story short I have been diagnosed with type 1 daibetes,I had sugars at 48...I was in a coma,and near death,So i was totally misdiagnosed....

I was in the hospital all through the holidays.

Now there has been some concern with the gift swap,And im not here to start a fight,I have no intentions on recieving something and not doing anything in return,The Card Swap i missed with good reason,I was hanging on to dear life.

I'm fine now,Struggling my life has completly changed,But i am able to go on now,I was a little upset yesterday when i got the email about your concerns,All im asking is for another chance,I did not skip anything on purpose.

The decision is not up to me but i do hope i can perticipate in this gift swap,

yikes, cataholic, she's gini, I thought you were talking to me! :p sweet gini, we all have different expectations in this swap. I check the list to make sure not any of cards got lost in mail. I almost lost three of my packages last christmas and it felt really suck! so, when we see the names on list, we are expecting them to come unless we heard something else happened, right? I'm sure you would be disappointed if half of the cards never came.

I'm sorry this is a bit old, I'm glad you edited your posts vela, they were hurtful to read especially calling person a name when a person is already feeling bad and trying to offer something else. I'm at least happy she got my card through this rough time, it's nice thing we could do for her. and for corinna too.

I also kept a list to keep track of MY OWN cards........but glad to know what happened to the ones that hadn´t arrived.......I think letting you know they hadn´t arrived would make anyone think "hey I did send it, what happened?" and not meant to be like "hey you didn´t send to me ".......just to let everyone now what happened with their cards while onthe "twilight"....LOL

I was talking about your first post too and I felt it was fair for everybody to see my this morning post since you made a public post too as well as you did it again now. These swaps are generally very civil. Amy and I, and whoever else decides to host a swap, try to keep it that way by removing any problems. Thus, the reasoning of me removing those who did not follow through with the card swap from the gift swap. It is very stressful to host a swap so any grief is NOT needed.


The whole thing about not participating in the gift swap started out private (and very mature and civil) but was brought public by a member, and has become very immature and uncivil. Lets be adults and keep it the way it started and leave this thread be. What's done is done, nothing is going to change.

I thought I was doing a good thing letting everyone know what were the resons they didn´t got a card from someone, I was by no means trying to "kick" someone when down.......just letting everybody know if they should worry about someone like Lori, some may not know she was ill, some may not know Catluvrs was lookig for another job.......it could´ve been as well to give them support in those times, not meaning "start harrassing them for a card"........no way I meant that.........

Maybe a rant on swap issues could be started in the DH where people could air out their frustrations, and all of it that is here could be taken out so that this, one of Corinna's last posts on PT, could be preserved as something pleasant and in the spirit of "family" and sharing of this community. Someday people might like to look at Corinna's posts again to remember her with a smile, and this thread instead of doing that, would bring sadness and disappointment.

Ok we have a storm here tonight in Germany and I see there is one at PT as well.
Well I participated in the swap for 4 years now and it always made my December!
I am very glad to receive all these cards and I keep every single one of them :D

In each year, there have been some I didn't receive. So what?

This year up to now Isabel didn't receive mine- I know I sent it. I think that can happen- Christmas time is the most troublesome for the mail service as well.

I would prefer if people who didn't send cards would tell me- some do and some don't- but the cards you get make the fun :D

I heard an item on the news this morning about a woman who has just received a letter that her father sent to her mother during the first world war. The letter could not be delivered at the time, because the family had moved house temporarily and although the postman had tried to trace them, he had not managed it. Subsequent letters were delivered, but this one seemed to fall into some kind of black hole at the post office, and just emerged recently. Although the mother is no longer with us, the letter was delivered to her daughter who is now 86.

Oops! I'm sorry, dukedogsmom, I didn't exactly pick up on the time stretch between huskymom's messages in April and yours of a couple of days ago. Last year was the first time I did it, and I remembered seeing some unhappy messages after the holidays about people who signed up and then didn't send cards out. I didn't want someone to think that I'd deliberately ignored them if they didn't get mine.

Anyway, thank you very much for the link for this year's. I am looking forward to participating (and sending lots of cards) again.
