Sadie and Spot eat Sensible Choice Lamb and Rice, as do my mom's and sister's dogs. All have done well on it.

It has quite a few fillers but definitely not the worst food out there. Which variety are you looking to feed?

Sensible Choice Natural Blends looks like a pretty good kibble... the regular formulas have lots of fillers, though. For the price, I would go for Natural Balance, which is also available at Petco :)

Thanks everyone for your input! Im just having a hard time getting coco to eat her dog food! I bought her science diet a while back and she loved it, but then we ran out so we had to get puppy chow to get us by for a day or two until i got paid! after a while she didnt even want to touch it, so i bought her the science diet again and she wont touch it! Im having to bribe her with other food to even eat it! I had to cut up hot dog and mix it in so she would search for the hot dog and eat the dog food at the same time! She use to absolutely love it, now she barely touches it! I just dont know what to try!

Sensible Choice is DEFINITELY a step up from Science Diet and Puppy Chow, definitely. I personally think Sensible Choice is a tad overpriced for what you are getting, however. At least, the places where I have priced it. I prefer Natural Choice. If you want to get Sensible Choice, I would just take a step up and get Royal Canin instead

Pedigree, Dog Chow, Iams, Eukanuba, Science Diet are all REALLY bad...

Things you should look for and aviod in dog food is:

1. ground yellow corn (No nutritional value...just a filler and #1 allergen)
2. wheat (allergen)
3. soybean oil (allergen)

Also, if you can buy it in the grocery store or Wal-mart, it's pretty much guarenteed to not be good.

Nutro has changed their food and added soybean oil and is causing dogs to have seepy ears and coat problems.

Sensible Choice is ok, but, we aren't carrying it anymore because our distributor doesn't allow us to be competitive.

Royal Canin isn't bad food...some of it is rated in the top 30 by Whole Dog Journal.

Surprisingly enough, Chicken Soup for the Dog/Cat Lover's Soul is rated in the top 30.

My favorite brands are:

Anything Solid Gold
Merrick's Wilderness Blend
Canidae
Pinnacle

Royal Canin is not bad by any means, but it is very expensive. You can get better quality food for cheaper, that's for sure. When I worked at PetCo, Royal Canin was the most expensive brand of food that we carried.
