Poor Jack....He is really having a rough time of it lately....:( :( First, he is sick with a kidney infection and has been taking antibiotics for that. Then last week, he and Duncan got into a squabble over a bone that my roommate left on the floor. Duncan found it and hid it in the couch and Jack found it and tried to steal it back. Well Duncan wasn't having that and he bit Jack in the ear. Not too badly, just a scrape really but it was bleeding and Jack cried... :(
Then yesterday, my roommate accidentally shut the screen door on Jack's tail and he pulled it out and it scraped off all the skin on the last inch of his tail. It's all bloody and raw... Poor thing...He's going to the vet this evening...His tail looks awful, it's all crooked and bent....not his usual long luxurious golden tail...

I'm ready for Jack to come live with me, Jennifer!! Or at least for your roommate to make him your dog. Poor fellow.....he has sure had some tough breaks, and I know it wasn't anyone's fault, but I feel sorry for him! :( I know you worry because you love him like he's yours. I sure am glad you're there to help keep an eye on that boy!
Hugs to Jack and Duncan. Hope that tail will heal soon. :)

I am sorry to hear that Jack is having a rough time. Perhaps if your roommate paid more attention, those accidents could be avoided!
Please let us know how Jack's tail is doing.

Poor Jack!
I hope his tail mends all right. Can dogs break their tails? How would they be treated if they did? Anyway, I hope the poor boy gets better soon.

Well, my roommate just emailed me...She took him to the vet this afternoon. They bandaged it up but they told her if may take up to 5 days to know whether or not he needs surgery....? I guess this tail thing is pretty serious and very hard to heal.
She doesn't tell me alot and she will never incriminate herself so I never really know the whole story....
I feel bad for Jack and hope it's nothing serious.
She's lucky it wasn't Duncan's tail....

Geez Jennifer...Poor Jack!:( That pup's been through so much lately! I hope and pray that surgery won't be necessary! You're such a good "second Mom" to worry and care for him so. Paws crossed and prayers for Jack
Poor Jack :( I hope his tail will heal without having to resort to surgery. I'm sorry to say but it sounds like your roommate is not taking very good care of her dog. Thankfully you are there for him.

:( Oh this is so sad. I hope he won't have to have surgery. It's so good of you to look after him like you do!
