Well, I have been trying to get Mr. Oliver to trust me for at least 2 months now and I am making some progress. Here is a picture of Oliver from earlier this summer.

I know Oliver is around when the driveway sensor goes off at odd times of the day and night :o He likes to walk past the sensor and set it off in the house....hey, he's a smart kitty....he knows that once he does that the door or window ususally opens and some lady calls his name...and boy does he come running.

I would like to ask all PT'ers for some more good thoughts. I've made progress in that I can get within 2 feet of him, but I am still unable to touch him and I have tried to get him into a Have-A-Heart trap but he is too smart for his own good....so at this time he still have not received any vet care.

Thanks for letting me share my update.

PS I have always wanted a completely black cat....Mystic shows up, I think she is completely black but she rolled over and her tummy is white.....Vegas shows up and his chest has a white patch....so here comes Oliver....well he rolled over and he has one little spot of white on his belly.....I guess I need to buy some black shoe polish. :) :) :)

Come on Oliver! Give in and let yourself be caught. You won't regret it. ;) :D

Are you feeding him? Will he get close enough while eating so you can touch him? That's how I worked it with both Grady and Charley. I even gave Charley a dose of Revolution while he was eating.

My Bonnie Girl (all black) was the same way for over a year. She would circle around us, just out of reach. Talk about frustrating!!! Now she is the first to get in our laps! In due time, I dare say that Oliver will prove to be a loverboy! ;)

Such a beautiful kitty! Just give Oliver time and patience, before you know it, you're going to have a velcro kitty on your lap.....

He will be eating out of your hands in no time. I love his name and how macho he looks, I think Oliver is the perfect name for him.

(Samantha has a few white hairs on her too, even one whisker on the side of her face is white.)

I feed him twice, sometimes three times a day. Last night I sat on the front steps and he decided to roll on the sidewalk in front of me. He started about 5 feet away and then started rolling and ended up two feet away.

I talk to him in a very gentle voice and try not to make any sudden movements. I am now going to prepare a dog house for him in the winter...in case he still is not trustworthy, he will at least have a warm place to stay at night.

Oh, he's a smart one. He's really going to make you work for it http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/March16th/lol1.gif

He'll come around, probably when you least suspect it. Have you tried catnip?

Have you tried catnip?

He is the first cat that I have encounted that has no reaction to catnip. :(
