6 month old german shepherd pitbull mix puppy is sick and does not want to eat nor drink water. The only thing he eats is grass and i have seen him throwing up a couple of times. What should i do? I gave him pepto bismol and pedialyte. I give it to him by force since he sad and looks weak. I would take him to the doctor but my parents dont get paid til friday. Before this occured i was feedin him puppy chow. any suggestions on what i should do.

*shakes head* I'll still never know why people will come on a message board with a question that should have been asked to the vet!

Have you tried CALLING the vet to see what they think you should do?? I mean they are the ones in a better position to help you with a medical problem!!

If you wait till Friday the puppy will be dead. The symptoms you give are classic for Parvo. Dehydration can become serious along with other complications. If you wish to save the dog it will probably need hospitalization. Have your parents discuss with the Vet a payment schedule for the cost of the treatment. It will be expensive, and the longer you wait the worse the prognosis. Approximately 80-90% of puppies with Parvo not treated will die.

P.S. Do not give the dog Pepto Bismol as different brands may have an aspirin compound in it when will cause more gastric problems.
