Nobody reacted yet, so maybe it is a good idea to mention this on Cat General too...?

Our Samantha had teeth out last year at her annual vet visit because of lesions. It is something that the vet always checks when the cats have their annual check up. I believe it is reasonably common.

One of Gary's cats had all his teeth removed and perfectly happily gums his food to death. :D

Are ALL of the teeth nasty? Fifi, my 4 YO, had 6 pulled in April and could use a couple more pulled now. 300 YO MamaCat had about 6 pulled last month, leaving about 5, but they left any teeth that weren't resorbed or gross.

John Hancock had to have all but 2 teeth removed, and one fell out later.
And hes doing fine, he can eat whatever he wants, and is a fine healthy Cat.
I think that he has a way of eating whare he swallows the food so he can digest, at the side of his mouth.
That was five yeras ago, and John Hancock is still alive and well.
He had bleeding gums and almost died.
If he was older, they may have had him PTS.
Thank God, hes still here.
