I stay away from Petsmart and any other stores that have those adoption days because I just *know* I would come home with at least one cat. But Petfinder on the other hand is accessible in your home...in your computer 24/7. And every time you turn your computer on it's waiting in the shadows to grab you when you least expect it! Beware.....

Once again I went to the Petfinder site. I couldn't resist and of course found a kitten I absolutely loved. Of course, I had to send away for info on the little girl.

I just phoned Rob and told him we may have to make an extra trip this weekend to a certain shelter. Petfinder is evil....they place all these cute faces on the screen and suck you right in....evil I say....EVIL.  ;)

On the other hand, you will now have a new Friend, and a good feeling in your Heart, and a Cat will have a New Furr Ever Home.
Thats what the Found Cats and especially the Porch Cats call a Win Win Situation.

Ok, just received an email back from the rescue and she's available. I'll be hopefully meeting her on Saturday to see what her personality is like. I've never had to introduce two cats before but of course I want what's best for Nakita.

I'll update you guys after I meet this 'little ball of calico fire'. ;)
..................................

Taken from Petfinder:

Notes: She is quite the little ball of calico fire! She loves to play with the other cats in her foster home and her foster Mom reports that after she's done playing she'll snuggle up and purr while she looks lovingly into your eyes. What a doll! She was rescued from death row at a local shelter - like so many of our cats - and we want the very best for her! We would like her to be adopted into a home with another kitten or a cat friend. Her foster Mom thinks she's wonderful this is what she had to say:

"...Sweetest kit you could imagine. She loves to cuddle and purrs like a motor. She has learned what the rattle of a Temptations cat treat bag means, comes running, and will daintily take the treat from your fingers."

I used to pine away at all the cats on petfinder too :o. Now I make life MUCH simpler.......................I just invite them into my home. :D (it's called fostering ;) )

She is totally adorable!!!! and not to be a "spoil sport", but with Nakita in the picture, I would be tempted to stay away from the calicos/torties.

I stay away from there myself, it depresses me to much to see all those sweet babies that just want someome to love them and they life they all deserve.

She is adoreable and I can't wait to see her introduction on here!

OK I'm going to tell you. Make sure you look at the hypnotic cone and repeat several times. " I will stay away from pet finder, I will stay away from pet finder, I will stay away from pet finder" Don't stop keep saying it. lolhttp://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/smile.gif

They both even have the little black marking by their right eye! They could EASILY be sisters!

I just LOVE little baby kitties! ;) :) :D

The resemblance is quite uncanny, Saopets!
She seems like such a cutie, Russian. I love Torties, they are just adorable. There are two torties at Clover's foster home, and they are both the sweetest things I have ever known.
I'm sure that this lil'un will be just as special and loving, and maybe, if that "fireball" part is true, as crazy and playful as Clover and all the other kitties put together!
cuuuuuutieeee!!!!

Kass, from my own experience in volunteering, I can tell you that these bugs are ALWAYS cuter and beautiful in reality than they are on the pictures posted on websites :D :D :D

So....we wait for the news! I am sure Nakita will love having a sister ;)

Russian Blue,

STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER!!!. Petfinder is addicting. I go on every once in a while to see what's up. It's SO tempting to want to adopt every single cat you see.

Well, Rob made me go to the adoption today since he knew I would be miserable if I didn't get to see 'Daisy'. As soon as I saw her I knew I wanted her. At one point Rob was holding her and she was licking my fingers. :D To me she already looked like a 'large' kitten and will easily outweigh Nakita in no time. I'm so used to a 5 pound cat being average. I will be picking her up next weekend from her foster home. I'm still undecided if I'll keep the name 'Daisy'.

In the same cage, there was a very beautiful male kitten named Simba. He looked like a peach coloured lion with big paws. All he wanted was headbutts and scritches. I can only imagine how magnificent he will look as an adult. His sister, Nala, was just adopted before I arrived. I could have easily left with 5 cats, but Rob held me back. ;)

The rescue had 23 kittens for adoption today - all rescued from ONE high kill shelter in Hamilton. :( Can you imagine how many are put to sleep during a typical week/year because of the irresponsible act of not spaying/neutering your pet. :(

I'll place an intro thread on 'Daisy' when I bring her home next weekend. Hopefully Nakita won't be too stressed by the new addition and this will actually help her in the long run. Keep your fingers crossed for me folks! ;)

I actually forgot my camera today to take some pictures. I have my camera with me all the time but was too excited this morning and only had one thing on my mind. :o

Good for you rescuing that precious one! I'm sure Nakita will hiss and swat for a bit, but with time I bet they become best of friends. Then you'll wonder why you didn't do this sooner! :)

Oh- these are wonderful news. You will hvae two kitties as different as mine and both beautiful :)

I am not sure whether she should not have a more elegant name than Daisy- she will have to learn that Nakita is the princess- but she is a precious little lady too ;)

Congratulations :)

What a little doll!!! From what you said in your post, Daisy sounds absolutely wonderful. They don't come much cuter than that. Looking forward to seeing more pictures and hearing about all those little kitten antics you now have to look forward to. Concatulations on your new furry little bundle of joy!

Daisy obviously was waiting for you to find her! What was meant to be, will be. I think Daisy is a wonderful name, only because we had a Daisy who was a real sweetheart.

Just think of her as your bright new flower girl! ;)

Congratulations! I can't wait for pics!

Peppito was the only cat of his house for 8 years, and I was surprised to see how he has adapted to Jasmine. He used to be extremely jealous (and he still is) but in spite of this he knows how to be gentle with her. He tolerates her very well and he is carefull, may be because he knows she is smaller and younger :) When Jasmine hides behind the furnitures and suddenly jumps on his back to play, you can see that he really controls himself to be gentle. He clearly enjoys having the presence of his little sister and not being alone anymore during those long days. :)

I am sure everything will be OK and that you will be proud of Queen Nakita as a hostess ;)
