WOW!! What a story!!! I am so glad that you found a FOREVER home when you are so loved and have a good friend like Mr. Crystals!!! If I may offer your parent a suggestion. We had a cat that had the same problem that Abby has in regards to eating a vomiting. I found that dividing the food up into 2 portions at breakfast and supper. I then put on a timer for one hour, when it went off, Ashley was fed the second portion. His episodes of vomiting stopped!!! Good luck with Abigail! HAPPY COTD!!

What a beautiful kitty! I have always had a soft spot for Calico kitties.

We had a similar food situation when we adopted our last cat. She was given up to a cat shelter because the person was moving into a place that didn't allow pets. At least that was their 'story'. When we got her home we noticed she would instantly run to the food dish as soon as we walked in the door from work/shopping/gardening... And there was always food in the dish. We think it was her pavlovian conditioning that whenever her human came home (which I am guessing was infrequently) is when she would get fed. I could get home from work and she'd run to her dish, then step out quickly to take the garbage out seconds later and when I came back she would run to her dish again. It was so sad. She ballooned in weight right away from all the gorging (but strangely no throwing up). It took her over a year to learn that there would always be food in her food dish and now she is a beautiful (but pudgy) little girl.

My sister Carolyn has a similar problem with her senior cat, Oliver. She solved it by getting an automatic feeder with four compartments, and setting the timers to open so that he gets four tiny meals a day.

Other than that, CONGRATULATIONS ABIGAIL! If your kittens are half as lovely as you, they must be gorgeous indeed. :)

Oh Abigail! You are truly beautiful! Your picture looks as if you are smiling right at the flashy thing... and those eyes are so big and bright!

Mew, meeeow, dearest Abigail,

You are so very pretty; we're sure you were a wonderful momma to your kittens. You remind my purr~ents of their beloved late Sasha the Queen Calico Cat. She was also abandoned, alone in the big city -- her five kittens were born outside! Lucky for Sasha and her babies our KatMa & Paw-Paw took care of her & the kittens. The five kittens went to good homes and Sasha came to live in The Palace which she eventually ruled all by herself.

Sasha was, like you, the most loving little cat and our purr~ents miss her so much. August 29th this year will be one year since Sasha went to Rainbow's Bridge. She is missed every day, forever and always.

My baby brother, Felix is a rescued kitty too. And my family moved away so at 8 1/2 years old, on January 14th 2006 I came to live with KatMa & Paw-Paw. They are so happy with us! Neither Felix or I knew darling Sasha.

Abigail, you have carved out a big spot in our purr~ents hearts; may you live & prosper in good health for a very long time, always loved, well cared for and cherished by your humans. Felix and I send lots of kittykisses to the purr~son[s] who rescued you -- the true heros.
