Dogs usuallly LOVE milk (also cheese, ice cream, yogurt), but some dogs don't tolerate it very well--they'll get upset tummies. :( I'd give just a little very lowfat milk to the dog and see if it causes any problems. If not, a few tablespoons of milk or a little cheese every few days shouldn't cause any harm....My dogs both ADORE dairy products! :D

My dog LOVES cheese, ice cream, cottage cheese, and yogurt. The cottage cheese and yogurt (plain) is supposed to be very good for her digestive system. I read that cheese is bad for her (too rich for her digestive system) so she no longer gets that.
I don't think ice cream is good for her but she gets it occasionally as a summer treat. I tried the frosty paws "ice cream" for dogs and she wouldn't eat it (most dogs love it).
Never tried giving her milk but I think it's fine for dogs as long as you test your dog's tolerance like Kobieeli said.

Our vet told us not to give ours milk...I don't know why, but that's his advice.

I give Kia just a little milk to cool down her oatmeal in the morning. She used to get ice cream but my sister bought Kia some Frosty Paws and she LOVES it.
Every once in awhile, Kia will get a small ice cream cone if we are out and about.
We've had no problems if she gets it in small quantities. She got way too much ice cream in one day last summer and she had diarehha. :(
