I get the Freecycle posts sent to my email. So, while searching them, I noticed that a woman and her husband were trying to give away 4 3-week old kittens. Apparently, their neighbor had trapped the mama cat and taken her to "the pound". Then the husband had found the babies under their house and brought them in. They can't take care of them so I immediately sent them an email telling them to contact me when they could, I could help them out. The husband emailed me back saying that someone was supposed to pick them up, and came by while they weren't home, but he hasn't heard from them since so here's hoping that I can help them.
Troy would not be pleased but I can't just sit here and think, "Man, I wonder if they're still alive." and stuff. I don't think the landlord would care.
Man, I hope I can help.
UPDATE: Sadly, it's a no go. The couple didn't even bother replying this time. They just sent another Freecycle message. They just had people come and pick up kittens and that was the end of it. Hopefully they've gone to homes where they know how to take care of a kitten that young and will be loved as a kitty should.
Sadly, again, Troy knows a lady who did not spay and neuter her cats. Well, her white manx got pregnant and had four kittens (one grey male, two grey females, and a blonde female-all manx) last year. Her mom took the blonde female and she said she waited too late to get the others altered. Well, the mama and two grey females all got pregnant. I guess the two young ones didn't take care of their kittens so they died. THEN they got outside and got pregnant again and she has something like nine baby kittens. She asked us to help her find homes for them. I told her I would try all I could. I am going to tell her about the spay/neuter programs here and help her get those babies to good homes. Hopefully, we can foster.
