I just got a Betta and until I get a tank that can use a heater, would a heat lamp, heating pad work, or a heat rock from a iguana be sufficient.? Also is colorbright food recommended? Thanks

The best betta pellets are Hikari Betta Biogold. What size tank is he/she in?

Then you don't need a heater :).

Ok thanks I was only asking because his water is cold.

70 degrees+ is fine for a betta. Closer to 80 is usually recommended, but I've conditioned my breeders at a constant 71-72 and still got them in excellent breeding condition.

If your water is really cold, a lamp would work, or even a lid (if you don't already have one). I find my tanks with lids versus open air stay slightly warmer.
