stiches

my roxy was spayed about 3 weeks ago and she still has her stiches in and we have to give her bath but the shelter said to not give her a bath until the stiches are out. is there any way to take out the stiches ourselves or is it ok to give her a bath with the stiches? the stiches dont bother her at all.

then they are over due to be taken out. You need to have a Vet check. Most stitches used these days are absorbed and don't need removal. The problem with the older type is that if not removed you get skin overgrowth and infection around the stitches.

Assuming they are non-absorbable, then gently patting the area with a wet clean cloth wouldn't hurt. But I wouldn't be placing the dog in a tub of water where the area is soaked.

she went to the vet today and they the stiches looked great. thanks for the tip about the cloth ill try it.
