If you're that worried about your cousin hurting your puppy, why do you send him there while you're on vacation? Is there not a local boarding kennel you could put him in? They are usually OK (at least they won't hit him). Or are you meeting your cousin at the beach and the puppy is going too? Maybe I'm just confused.

I take it your dog will not be going on vacation with you? First off I would not let someone watch my dogs who has been known to hit them. I'd find a reputable friend or kennel that can watch them instead.

How old is your dog? What breed?

How long will you be way?

How far away from home are you traveling?

Sorry to impose upon the thread... but pardon for "just a moment" - lv4dogs, I love your new siggy!

Now back to the point... is there anyone on PT near you that might be interested in fostering/watching your dog while you're away.

If you can find lodging where he could stay wth you, I'd take him, just leave him in the hotel room, perhaps in his crate if that's a comfy place for him, mentally, while you go to the ocean each day.

Or, over two weeks, I think maybe you could get him acclimated to the ocean - I don;t expect him to jump right in, but being on the beach with you without anxiety should be possible.

If you absolutely cannot take him, for some reason, is there a trusted person, like a neighborhood friend, who could come over and let him out in the morning and evening, and feed and give him some play time, so that he could remain at home?
