Happy 14th Birthday to my Sadie! It's actually her 13th gotcha day but I don't know her birthday so I made today her birthday.
I can't believe so many years have gone by and I'm happy to say she can still enjoy hiking and all the things she loves to do. Maybe she doesn't have the same energy level but she still gets around quite well.
She has been diagnosed with kidney disease but she is doing well on her special diet. She wears diapers in the house but they work well and don't bother her much. I know time is against her so I enjoy every minute as much as possible. I love those moments when I see some youthful energy in her and I hope that lasts a long time.
These are my most recent pictures of her:

She can still jump! Not as quick or high, but she can still do it!

As a new activity we bought a canoe. We got a great life jacket for Sadie that has flotation on her belly and back to help her float. She doesn't like the water much but this helps her swim and she seems to enjoy it more.

This is how she spends her days, a lot of laying around (on a protective bed pad).

The feral cats in the neighborhood have figured out that our dog is not much of a threat. They seem to have a game of dare going on where they run across the yard past her sitting in her bed. I see this cat on the hill in the backyard spying on Sadie all the time.

Happy Birthday girl! We'll get an ice cream treat tonight :)
